There were two versions of "Vienna Woods"---instead of a small chamber ensemble with the orchestra, the solos would be done by a classical zither performer in the orchestra at the beginning and at the end of this enchanting waltz.
beautiful! particular affection for this 'cos I used play this on stage in WorkingMens' Clubs in the 1970s! Played it on guitar. They loved it. This is a perfect version though.
What a sweet, sweet piece of music! All music is inspired by God - and the hard work of such composers as Johann Strauss II who are inspired by God! Rev. Ken Walker St. Albert, Albert
👏👏👏 Bravo
dont forget, Brazilians are people with deep musical culture & civilisation. Rythm, tempo, joy and fun is in their blood hence the excellent performance of a rythmic tempo such as a waltz is!
And don't forget you Mr. Gouzouassis, la cultura occidental ha sido monopolizada por los "ricos" y "la iglesia" en TODA Sudamérica por siglos, no solo Brasil, negándosela a las clases "bajas" oprimidas, imagínese ud. lo prolífica que vá a ser Sudamérica ahora que todo EMPIEZA a democratizarse...
Fifteen minutes of absolute pure enjoyment. Why can’t the BBC put something like this on instead of the repeat rubbish we get in the afternoons. Get out the stereo headphones and I defy you to sit still !!
The faniliar theme at 3 mins was the theme of the Arthur Murray Dance Party when I was little. I loved that show...Kathryn Murray wouldsay Put a little fun in your life ...try dancing!! and the two would start and lead a whole group in waltz. It was the kind of beautiful and quintessentially American think that is so missing from our lives today....
+Fernando Herrera Hi Fernando, not always in one, the slow parts would be too slow to do in 1... at the time I did some extra gestures when in 1, trying to influence the flow and parts of the bar, for instance the Viennese anticipated 2 beat etc. Best,
FabioCostaMusic okay I see. When I played this our conductor hardly ever strayed away from conducting in one. Perhaps it would've been better for our performance if he did.
Why do people almost never recognize the performers, namely: orchestra, conductor, venue, date! Saying “I was there” is the most annoying, useless, non informative info you can leave behind. Who cares, Mr Ego-I-Me.
