He’s definitely someone who’s life is in his playing , amazing musician! Can play almost anything and he’s so humble and knows he can always improve and never brags about anything or has a ego. Love him
I saw him with Rob zombie. I had seen pictures of him with all that cool makeup. How good did I think he would be? I didn't know. Well' He was fucking amazing. He seems like a cool guy. Want me to show you how I do it. No problem. That is total class!
I have to agree, I have watched a lot of interviews and he just seems so low key. I will be meeting him at the end of this month 3/18. I also like that he doesn't drink, do drugs and only curses rarely, or when needed. I think he is a great role-model for kids that are just starting out.
I watch this guy and I'm not so much inspired to PLAY my guitar as much as I am inspired to THROW my guitar. Thank you John for making the Tele a shred machine. I only have eight Teles, John has like 4,287 of them.
This man just knows himself around a guitar, he breaks all "genre" barriers and just plays whatever the hell he wants and makes it amazing, He is a guitar god, and if you don't agree you don't know anything about the instrument and need to go sit in a corner..
I agree. I love John 5 and the way he pulls from all these different genres and can throw them back out however he wishes. Definitely knows his business. And he seems like a really nice guy too.
He's actually a great guitar teacher. if I can play what he's teaching in the video under 5 mins....They're just Emin triads...but he plays it stupid fast and clean.hahaha
I just found this dude 2 days ago and completely agree. I could tell by watching him jam on random guitars that he can mix styles exactly the way I need to learn.
I love seeing a guy playing a Telecaster. The most overlooked guitar, outside of Country. It's actually such a versatile instrument, as perfectly depicted here.
I just love watching John go to work. I’d love to just learn some of the country and bluegrass stuff he throws in but I’m totally content to just sit in amazement watching him play.
LOVE how he thinks and plays outside the box, I'de like to sit with him for a lesson. He forgot more than I'll ever know, very taseful under~rated player !!
Just saw him with The Creatures, and they were indeed amazing. And people are always saying that he is wasted playing simple riffs in the band(s) he is in, but I think they're missing a big part of what makes him special. He genuinely LOVES music and playing guitar. That is infectious. He is a serious student of music and a former session player and is capable of learning something new from every genre/style he plays. I think once you get to his level of technical prowess, too, you have a sort of built-in humility and willingness to keep an open mind about what you don't know, and a knowledge that music is not always how many notes you can play but about when not to play notes and about the spaces in between notes. Anyway, he's incredible and a wonderful showman.
thanks so much john! I really appreciate you coming to Reno ( November 11 2015) your drummer and basist were amazing too. absoloutly mind blowing. when I grow up I want to be as talented as you are! P.S I was the little girl on(your) left of the stage. and the pick you gave me has your makeup on it... XD and I got the set list with your foot print on it YAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! AND a cd signed by you. please please please PLEASE come back again!!!!! thank you!
Dude ..... you’re one Sick Guitar player! And I am in awe ! And I am so disgusted with myself for quiting when I was nine , started on piano talked the folks into letting me try guitar , don’t know why , but after two lessons I quit . And the folks let me ! I am 53 now and doodle around , come to find out I’ve got a pretty good ear pick stuff up quick ! Oh yeah well maybe it was for the best ! Really enjoy your music and watching you play! I think I am safe to say you enjoy being aa musician !
1:14 "and then i see these guitar players doing their thing" and he plays it like nothing happened. I was like "dude !". He walked past that like he didn`t do anything. I love this dude.
I lost it when he was talking about the stuff people normally play at Guitar Center and just casually started playing Eruption. This dude is on another level, not gonna lie...
That's a really interesting sounding lick, and that dive-bomb sounding harmonic he did by bending behind the nut, I'm trying that until I get it right.
