This series is truly cult and a forerunner. When I was young in the '70s, I sat and watched this series. Even then unique in its kind by two great personalities in Tony Curtis and Roger Moore. The music is really finely crafted for this series and matches exactly the content. Phenomenally!! Greetings from Sweden!
Mate I am from the other opposite peninsula of the continent (Ita), yet you litterally took the words out of my mouth. Quite likely, since the show was sold throughout Europe at the same time to so many broadcast, we were watching the same episodes on two different carpets on the same afternoons. We had some nice childhood in the 70s compared to the void the youth has now... cheers from Milan
@@angriff69 Hello, Italy and Milan! Where football is big and with many Swedes through the ages. Glad to hear that there are more than just me who like the program. I really love this program with great humor and two world celebrities. Here we have a clear cult status. Have a good time!
I'm from Sweden as well (Hallå!) and remember watching this (Snobbar Som Jobbar, as it ridiculously was translated to here) as a little kid in early 70s. Curtis and Moore had great chemistry together and of course both had a huge amount of charm. However, when watching reruns I have to say that the greatest and most memorable thing is this amazing intro with the music of legendary John Barry. Still today it stands out as such a great musical piece, and the narrating pictures that gives us the backrounds of both the leading characters is brilliant IMO.
Totally and utterly brilliant.I hear this and go back in my mind to a time when life was simple and full of innocence.John Barry was a master of movie music. He set standards that few. have matched
I never get tired of this track. Oh to be a playboy back in the early 1970s with the pretty ladies of the south of France. Very politically incorrect but who gives a stuff. Roger became Simon Templar,Brett Sinclair and James Bond rolled into one and lived a glamourous life much loved. Henry. x
one of the best themes ever created by a genius named JOHN BARRY for a series where two giants play who unfortunately are no longer in this world CURTIS and MOORE may their souls rest in peace
I always wanted to be like them since i was a small boy....travelling around the globe, meeting New people.. having adventures....... still trying to.....
It’s amazing what music can bring into your memories of your past. Such joyous times in this era of British TV. Sad we have to die and move on. Such as life. 🙏
Addio Brett e Danny!!!
Great work of John Barry... I've never missed The Persuaders... I hear this masterpiece nearly every day and love it. It takes me back to my childhood...Good old times :-)
In Canada (province of Quebec), we had the best of both worlds: we had some great American series and the best of the British series also. This is one among many of them.
This soundtrack and their stories flowing over time give me a nostalgic but reassuring feeling at the same time .... I mean I suffer a little inside because they are dead and this seria TV is quite forgotten, but I'm Happy when I see It ....🤔
The epic and atmospheric 'The Persuaders theme is all swirling strings and synthesisers, suggesting a dark and gothic show - which of course, it was anything but
