I know the your comment is old, but I had to answer your question. In their situation, there's no free healthcare and no pentions. People rely on their extended family for support in thier old age, and on their siblings to look after their children if they are left orphanned. Far from creating more mouths to feed, having lots of children means more people help suport the family.
