The summer of 1980 was magical at a place called the Fast Lane in Asbury Park. People talk about the Pony but that only gave birth to Southside and the Jukes, who never became successful at scale, the others were cover bands. But the Fast Lane was the stomping ground of a tremendous amount of talent, including Beaver Brown, who I would jokingly call Beaver on the Edge of Brown. Besides being incredibly hard-working, they were just the nicest group of guys around, especially Pat Lupo. Genuinely good people who deserved the success they ultimately achieved. I was very happy for them when it finally happened. The Fast Lane was really special, especially during that year. I had a band that constantly played there, rehearsed there, and basically lived there. Have to admit we were a little jealous that Beaver Brown got so big in "our" club. But years later, we did okay, like most Fast Lane alumni. You probably heard of my singer, Jon Bon Jovi. Good on John Cafferty. Happy for him.

What a great and talented guy. He and his band use to play Toads Place in New Haven, CT. a lot. My youngers brother's gf loved John and the bands music and always went to see them there.

Lived on South 12th St. in Lindenhurst, Long Island many years ago. My next door neighbor toked up with my elder Grandpa, 2-3am sometimes and shot the shit. I told him one night to Marry his girl. He partied with Joel a couple days earlier, on a boat. Cool cat although his pit bull made me nervous. I gifted you the antique Bongos🔥Moved back to San Diego. A couple kids, a wicked divorce, and driving a Coca~Cola truck 16 years now. That’s my life👍🏼 Oh, wait! Published six times by National Geographic. No big deal… Get in touch with me “Brother” ghost-writer; On The Dark Side.( I saw the record on your wall) I hope you’re still alive. Peace and love. Sorry I didn’t come to the wedding. Confusion back then. ☠️🤙🏻🎩
