I think the problem/issue with people not going full heel sometimes is because there hasn't been this full heal mentality in a long time (either with WWE or with the fans). People will cheer a heel if they like his character and how he's doing it. So sometimes getting cheers doesn't mean they're a face. Plus, I think it did work with Cena having a half and half reaction because both sides were just as loud and adamant as the other one. Also, he pulled it off because he was so good on the mic and on doing improv out there in the ring that he could control any situation that came up in any given moment. Most wrestlers couldn't do that.

The reason John cena didnt turn heel is cause cena wanted to be a full blown heel, But vince wanted cena to be a brett hart-like heel, He was supposed to turn heel around 2012 during his fued with the rock night after wrestlemania 27, unfortunately everything was cancelled on last minute...

It would’ve been cool to see Cena go heel. But I get why it never happened. The people who wanted to hate him already did. The people they wanted to love him and buy his merch already did. You flip him and the same people who already booed him are going to but now you’ve lost all the revenue from the families and kids. So I get why they went the way they did. And if you doubt he made a positive impact on their business stop focusing solely on ratings and look at revenue and profits and the growth during his time.

Very good point. But just for fans' shake n for Cena Vince could have done it at least once n see what happens. Isnt it? There was always a chance to turn him again as a face. But what he did was he used Cena's character as a cash cow product n minted money. Eventually we got fed up by that constant push at the top at the expense of other deserving. I think John Cena has the highest duration as the top guy of wwe pushed by the mgmt.

@@simenzelwedlamini7875 absolutely not. It was the top mgmt who saw where the big money was. Cena struck a cord with a new age group pf audience in that time. Vince saw kida are liking cena more. A kid will always come with their parents n force his or her parents to buy merchandise n in all likelihood parents will buy that stuff. It was not the case what we grew up watching. Era before Cena was more young adult oriented. But Cena was the face n hence had to take the blame.

@@oldschool4714 again the pg era started due to the beniot incident wwe was all over the news on that so wwe had to go into a different direction and the chose cena as the company guy to be the face of the pg era due to him being popular with kids so the people who blame cena are so in the wrong they have to understand it was not cena fault the change in direction it was wwe as a whole and cena was on of the founders of the ruthless aggression era so I dont get the blame of him they were different eras and people have to understand times are changing in life !

@@MyNameIsUnavailable dude has everything it takes to be a huge star. Back in the Attitude Era they used established guys regardless of age and it was based on talent. Same should apply here. Just look at the guys around 40 or over that are having the best runs of their career right now. Lesnar, Lashley, AJ Styles and Finn Balor immediately come to mind. LA Knight/Eli Drake is on the level of any of those guys in my opinion and should be a world champion.

Why would you not use a guy that can represent your company very well? He’s on par with the best of the best on the mic and can wrestle and have great matches. There aren’t many in the modern era of wrestling that have catchphrases but he does and any time he’s on screen it’s must see.
