That takes me back! Way back! I am German and watched Monty Python on German TV as a teenager. It was all dubbed into German - the lip-synchs weren't too bad) - in the mid-1970s. Back then, nobody I knew had even heard of Monty Python (I must have had crappy friends, godallmighty!). It was as if I had struck gold - finally people who shared my sense of humour! Couldn't get enough of the gang!

+issac lopez "Der Junge trinkt das Wasser" ;) "Der" is the male article. "Die" is female. But I know.. german articles are very very difficult and confusing for non-native speakers.
@slvrpltd
@slvrpltd 8 лет назад
+tvchild76 "die" is not necessarily female. It is used in plural contexts too. Actually psycholinguistic experiments suggest that the mental representation of the syncretic "die" as well as strong adjectives ending with "-e" carry no morphosyntactic features regarding case, number and gender. See Opitz et al. 2013 and for female nouns Opitz & Pechmann 2014.

I don't know german at all but I have a absolutely perfect german accent and it has been proven many times by native german speakers, I can read german phrases perfectly or just make up my own gibbersh. I used to have perfect native-level german speaking girlfriend and she hated when I always spoke my gibberish german as her brain would constantly try to understand what I was saying but at the same time she couldn't make any sense of it. I also made her translate funny phrases that made no sense to german and then I remembered them to heart and always spouted them with perfect pronunciation when german-speakerers were present and still do. I'm just wasted talent, should learn german for real but then it would stop being funny. :D
