Inhuman? I was always raised to be compassionate towards others and respect their wishes. This is basic human behavior to me. If people don’t want me to use a certain phrase, it is petty for me to whine about having to be correct. Being nice to others should be second nature. Years ago we watched Cleese and his pals do a scene in “Life of Brian” in which one of the main characters, Stan, declares “I want to be a woman.” We laughed at the complete absurdity of that scene. Now we’re living that absurdity.

I would really like to know WHY he adores Colbert. He was funny once upon a time, but he's gotten so woke and political, its just nauseating to watch. I've always loved John Cleese, he's so funny...Monty Python is still a favorite of mine, but when he spoke about the fact that you didnt used to be able to say certain things, or use some words...that was in the UK. In the US in the 70s and 80s, not only did comedians say anything they wanted, but the more outlandish the content, the more popular they became. Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, George Carlin...now its rare to find a comedian who just lays it on the line for the sake of GOOD comedy like Dave Chapelle and Bill Burr

What a shame to hear John Cleese say he adores Stephen Colbert! I agree that Colbert was very funny before he became a late-night TV host, but his beat-them-over-the-head remarks in that forum have been nothing but hate-filled rants against people whose political opinions are different from his. That's when I stopped watching him. The other two or three late-night hosts did the same thing when Democrats were in power and kept a drumbeat of Trump bashing when they weren't. Surely John Cleese would agree that isn't creative. As a result, it's simply not funny either.
