Apparently, it was Connally as Navy Secretary who approved Oswald's dishonorable discharge from the Marine Corp after his defection to the Soviet Union. An alternative JFK assassination argument is that Oswald really meant to shoot Connally in retaliation for this action.

And Oswald sent a request to have the dishonorable discharge upgraded to general discharge and he was turned down by Connally. my dad’s classmate from the Naval Academy was Connally’s aide at the time and passed it on to Connally. He always thought that Connally was the target not Kennedy.

Oswald didn't shoot anyone. He thought he had a bigger part in the assassination but in truth I think he was just used to be seen in the break room and found in the theater

Marina Oswald Russian Wife of Lee HArvey was adamant to Warrren Comm8sion that Connelly was target, he was Secretary of Navy when Lee Harvey was granted an Honorable Discharge when he was allowed to reurn to USA to help his mother who was ill but whennit was dicovered he had emm8grated to Russia it was changed to DISHONOURABLE DISCHARGE , when Lee Harvey returned to USA he repeatedly attempted to have it changed but was refused, every communication he receivedwas signed by Connelly then Secretary of Navy responsible for Marines . Marina claimed Lee Harvey admired JFK, bothhad a young pretty wife, two young children.

Unless a person is over 65-70, John Connally is a nearly forgotten figure in history, (other than being in the same car, when John Kennedy was assassinated)! It seemed ironic that a person who Pres.Nixon chose to be America's "Secretary of the Treasury," would eventually declare bankruptcy! Connally seemed to be an eclectic man, who may have taken too many financial risks, in his unusual business ventures! R.I.P.!

Sen. Yarborough was suppose to be seated in front of JFK. The senator smelled gun powder at street level. Drain shooter and the Remington fireball. Aka as j Sutton.
