only really got into his stuff lately and i think he's amazing. not even solely for the poetry but just his general fashionistic knowledge and keen eye for the art in anything. can hit the high-brow with anyone but phrase it in the vocabulary of the everyday working man. he's a complete gem of an interviewee, can rattle off lots about himself and still come across as self-affacing. his autobiography is full of these sort of memories of venues and people long ago.
"Never brighten my door again - hahahahahaha!!!!!" The man is literary, well-read, and brilliant. Much of his work inspired by the classics. Hard to believe? Not for me mate!!!
I just saw John Giorno and now some John Cooper Clarke, totally different, and both fenomenal! Love his music too, my friend's got the album Snap Crackle And Bop with great stuff like Bloody Chickentown or Beasly Street, een echte aanrader!
3 absolute national treasures. John, Mark and Stuart. And of course our boy Lard. Grew up with these via records and radio and books. Used to listen late at night under my covers as a young man. They must be pushing it now. Long may they live long. Never saw the Shirehorses. It is with great regret. Listened to the first album tonight because i needed a good fucking laugh. It did the job.i hope you didn't fall out; you were brilliant together. Seen JCC a few times. Read all of of MR'r and SC's books. Love you all :)
@@bpm609 I was lucky enough to see the shirehorses in Liverpool ,fuck knows when, very early 2000's....Mark and lard where a great companion back home long distance driving for work and the intro to fish or foul is a work of genius in itself..... And that show introduced me to cardiacs which is forever bright...
Everyone must have a list of people who have inadvertently shaped their lives for the better which then it spreads out yer knowledge and culture like a knock on effect ...... and they're on mine..
I was best man at my best mates wedding but there was a crisis! Eithr be on time without the dope or be late with it! Well i made the wise choice & was very welcomeingly LATE!¬
