Agreed Graham, I saw him in Preston back in the day, topping his own bill. Fantastic performance from a northern genius who most of us are proud off I am sure!
I've seen you on countdown I've seen you on QI You make me laugh You make me think You make me wanna cry Now I found you on RU-vid I couldn't help but subscribe. I heard you on the radio with Ken Bruce today. I could fall in love with you If i was gay.
I saw JCC on many occasions throughout the 80s and 90s but I've often wondered, did he ever play live with The Invisible Girls? I'm pretty sure he didn't as I'm sure I would have known. I first saw him supporting The Buzzcocks in 78 and it was just him on his own. Would love to have seen him tour with them but I guess they were all busy with their own bands.
Dean Michael I saw this at the time but have only just realised the taches are from the cover of Disguise in Love. Took more than 40 years for the penny to drop.
anyone got any idea who that is on bass there? i love the sound from the actual bass he's playing. very similar to that sound The Fall got from theirs too. that heavy wooden growl with a little metalic resonance. lovely.
hannett is playing a Rickenbacker (4001?) bass here - they're pretty growly and metallic just on their own but, he also made peter hook get exactly the same bass rig as him when he produced JD and hooky has always made his equipment pretty well known! just look in one of his many books...

The youngest was in my year but left before 2nd year. cant remember which name was which now. It was cool watching Sad Cafe on TOTP and his sons were in school the next day! I was there between '78 - '83. I went to Rackhouse Primary school in Northern Moor.
