He describes his early life; his father had been at Pearl Harbor and his mother was a hula dancer. He relates conditions there. He becomes emotional as he describes the Battle of Mike’s Hill and the loss of comrades. He was awarded the Silver Star. He tells of his homecoming experience, when he was called a "baby killer." He spent the remainder of his service at Parris Island as a drill instructor. He tells of reunions and of visiting the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and gives his philosophy of war.
