In this video we explore the John Day Monument at Sheep Rock Unit. The many rock formations of this area have fossils that are records of ancient life. This is one of the three units of John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. Sheep rock has the best visitor center at Thomas Condon Paleontology Center. There are also some good stops for views and hikes at Blue Basin, and Foree.
This video is part of a trilogy for the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, see the rest here:

You should spend some time studying the mining industry and compare all of this to what's happening now. Most of what you are seeing here is dumped piles of what would now be called hazardous waste. Its just on a smaller scale now than what was in the past. Go check out trees stumps too and compare the decayed stumps of today to the mountains and don't t let the size fool you.

"He was robbed at the Columbia river" what are you afraid to actually say the word Indians or perhaps you prefer Native Americans or was he just robbed by animals? Why even mention it if you're not gonna fill out the thought with the fact that he was robbed by Indiansseems like a pretty glaring mission to just say oh he endured some rough times he was robbed by the Columbia river without saying anything about who it was that robbed him? It's not very far off topic to mention that.

I am not sure why it would be important to state the ethnicity of the robbers. You wouldn't ask me to call them white robbers if that was the case. So why must the native American robbers be identified by race? This seems like racism bias but I don't blame you as that is how most of us were educated.
