Helped me to no end. 74 yr old novice with new 1025R with hoe and bucket only. LIKE the marking!

I have spacers on my JD 1025r but no matter what you have done on your tractor it doesn't hurt to see what someone else has done to theirs's. I never thought about marking the spacers on mine which is a good idea. You always learn things no matter how much you think you know. Thanks for the video.

Hi Steve. You are so right. I too have learned so much from watching others. By the way I loved my 1025r! Thanks for watching and Merry Christmas!

I put Bora wheel spacers on my 3038e and instructions said Do Not use locktite . Torque to proper foot-pounds per your tractor specs. Have never had issues with loose lug nuts.

Good morning and Merry Christmas. Yes, I am aware that the instructions did state no Loctite. I simply made the decision to do it anyway, given my horrible experience previous. Plus, with the tires filled, I certainly dont want to have to take them off to retorque. That said, you may be right. Maybe it was a bad move. Thank you so much for watching!

Do you run a mid mount mower? Any clearance issues with the mower if you do run a mmm? I hardly ever use my 60" mmm but wanted to put 3 or 4 inch rear spacers on

Hi and thanks for watching! I do not have a midmount. Two reasons; first the when I compared the cost of a MMM vs purchasing a separate machine led me to buy a JD X350. Second, I did not want to put the mowing hours on the 2038R. I think you will be okay with a 60 inch MMM clearance but will have an issue with a smaller deck. Frankly I’m not sure. I would visit a DEERE dealer and do some measurements.

Emergency brake? LOL.

You mean for safety while it’s jacked up?
@ya472

@@TractorsAndLife No, it is not an 'emergency brake'. If it is a single pedal, it is a parking brake, and if there are two pedals, they are also steering assist brakes.

? I’m not sure what you’re saying? I’m aware the two pedals in the driver left are independent steering assist (braking). The emergency brake or parking brake is a pull up handle next to seat. Did I indicate something different in the video?

@TractorsAndLife I am just saying we have become accustom to using the phrase 'emergency brake' which was only relevant in cars and trucks that used a single hydraulic brake system. (Pre-1960's) If and when the hydraulic brakes failed, WE relied on the mechanical 'parking brake' to save our ass. LOL.

Wheel spacers aren’t the answer alone……. Nothing replaces good judgement and common sense on where to put your tractor and where not to put your tractor

Gene you are so right. Rear ballast, wheel weights, carrying your load low and good dose of caution and common sense. Great comments. Thanks so much for watching and Merry Christmas!

Spacers are a waste of time, energy and can be dangerous. If one is driving in conditions, like side slope mowing(bad), then counterweight is 10x more effective than wheel spacers. Having wheel spacers give FALSE confidence in the tractor's stability. Amateur operators will never agree, but experienced operators know how to properly equip and use machinery.

Thanks for watching and for the feedback. You make some great points. I think we’d both agree that the best safety measure is good common sense. That sad, I do not agree that spacers, are a waste on money. A wider stance is undeniably more stable. I noticed a difference in my BX, 1025R and the 2038r.

I agree with you wheel spacers I think can damage the tractor and I could be wrong. And people who rely on Rops if you have the Rops on make you more likely to roll over. And wearing the seat belt on a tractor in my opinion is stupid you should always be ready to jump off the rops when you roll over and it’s still going forward or backwards is going to make the tractor spin on it’s side. So you are going to get hurt that way and there has been a couple of times I have had pucker but if it’s going to happen it’s going to happen

@Nuf_Nivah good morning my friend and thank you for watching. You’ve convinced me that I need to do a follow up video to address some of the issues you raise. This is a very important topic and we need the facts. Thank you for supporting our channel!

@Nuf_Nivah From over 50 years of mechanical training and experience, 1) spacers can't damage axles, bearings or other parts. 2) the BX tractor would not 'spin' because it doesn't travel that fast and the BX usually tips when working at a slower speed 3) I do not wear a seat belt because there is no chance my BX will roll with the ROPS up, it just lays on its side.(twice) I stepped away, even with the canopy roof on.
