I miss taking the tin cans off the stacks of my Farmalls and starting them up during the winter. All nice and quiet in the valley and then the roar of them idling. Then starting up Massey and feeding my girls. To be so busy on a farm it sure is peaceful.
Love my JD 4020. But, it does NOT like winter. I've addressed that though with a coolant heater and plug it in. I'm going to take a guess and say his started more easily because it still has a 24v electric setup. This means more electrical power and two heavy duty batteries "in line". Later model 4020's were 12v. And, a lot of earlier models were converted to 12v with one battery. Which works fine if it's 40 degrees F or warmer...
that started a hell of a lot easier than mine did I had to break out the torch and heat damn thing up with a heater for about 10 minutes before it would
Piece of sh*t John Deere tractor? Really? The poor thing has to sit outside in the weather and it still started. That machine deserves better treatment- like parking it inside of a building, where it is out of the weather. I can’t even afford a John Deere riding mower and would just love to have one to take care of. Then I see folks who own one - tearing it up.
