Eric, thanks for the videos. I'm a disabled veteran, and it seems like my body is just deteriorating from all the meds I am on. I ran the weed eater for 5 minutes this week and my muscles are so sore I feel them at the slightest movement. I grew up on a farm, and I got it in my system, I can't drive my riding lawnmower without it causing a firestorm of aches. I really have enjoyed being your side. Kick. You are very generous. Thanks again. JD from Alabama.
Mom and I took over Dad’s farm after he passed.... I’m grateful I helped Dad fix things, and I can use tools... but glad to have your tips on things I didn’t do often... like tractor stuff.... thank you!
Sign the covenant: "We the undersigned do solemnly pledge not to point out the obvious to 10thGD recognizing that Eric is profoundly intelligent and is probably doing so anyway."
4240 is one of of the best John Deere's large farm I work for has one on the mixer for the past 15 years. It had 25,000 hours on and they had to rebuild the motor, it's now pushing 60,000 and only major break was a new injection pump this summer.
That's not bad. When they started turning the engines sideways in the cars 250 transmission for the front wheel drive on the 87 Oldsmobile you had to take off part of the passenger side fender well to get to the filter.( "To position the transaxle".) I usually change what autocorrect puts in there but this time I thought it was hilarious what it thought I said.
@@EFCasual There is a small plug right under the filter housing that can be removed & put a small container under it so it will drain the oil from the filter before removal, but sometimes, when time doesn't allow, it is much faster to just let the oil run down the frame. Going to powerwash anyway.
Love your channel for someone who loves milk, I say thank you for all your family does to keep the shelves full. God bless you guys with many years of amazing cows that produce maximum quality milk for you.
We switched over to a10w-30 oil for colder weather and it makes it a ton easier to crank a diesel in cold weather. When it warms up the next oil change is back to the 15w-40 and we have no issues with wear on the engines. Just an FYI for you.
Whoever sent you the filter wrench, good job, I don't do maintenance on Motors of any kind but I remember from my auto shop class way back in high school, those are incredibly useful tool. Great video.
So glad to see you continue to post! Big BIG "Thank You" for all your hard work "keeping in the loop" those who choose to be (and those who are are forced to become) armchair farmers. I love seeing what you're up to everytime you post a daily farm task. I miss using all the varied skills required to productively till God's Green Earth! Keep it real. Ps 143:8 Let me hear your loyal love in the morning...make known to me the way I should walk... FarmerMJ
Your little smirk when putting on the safety glasses made me chuckle. Love your content of your videos. You do a great of making the simple tasks interesting.
Never commented before but will do because it helps you out with you tube! Love your videos, not a farmer but live in a rural area where farming is a major industry. Actually find the vids relaxing, bit if escapism I guess! Thank you for making the effort. Keep up the good work!
The inside of the cab looks like a well used farm machine. I think I once suggested that Eric wear safety glasses. Nothing like the satisfaction of watching crud come off with the power washer. I ordered my shirt and am looking forward to wearing it. Thanks for the fun and interesting video.
I laughed so hard when you put your safety glasses on maybe now RU-vid will promote you. Clean machinery is my pet peeve, a clean machine keeps making money. Good video Eric, Aloha brother🤙🏼from the Big Island
Which one is the bid Island? Your other things(editing is) a little sketchy, but I totally agree with you on keeping the Machinery clean. You let the ink build up too much( and as much as){ it will smudge} the bills and then you're finished making money. You see you got to go back and check your comments at least two or three times because that little programmer in Sri Lanka thinks we don't speak the Queens English so good and likes to change everything you said with talk to text
I use a piece of expanded metal screen on my bucket. This way I can drop the plug on the screen and not get my hands covered with waste oil. Love your videos. From BC.
I’ll add a comment not only because I’ve been meaning to but to boost your RU-vid stats. Like others love the dry humour here and there & the experiences you share. Keep it up!
Hi Eric. We love to watch your videos. We are big fans of your farm. We have a small holding in Co Kerry, Ireland and one day we hope to we as much machinery as you. Hi from Robbie, Lila and Ogie.
Looks like the 4240's engine could use a power washing...Great to see you wearing safety glasses...And now you're power washing the 4240 and the new'ish Kubota. Eric - thanks for the video - it was fun to watch. Stay safe and say "Hi" to dad.
Great to see you getting the feeder tractor serviced and cleaned out and washed. She is looking well and sounds sweet running to. Pity about the stickers on the skid loader but these things happen Eric. Great video and intresting plus you explained why you put oil on the cell it will save as you said about comments.
Yard tractors and skid loaders are the most heartly abused machines on the farm. My Dad used to get hysterical when I'd pull our 4020 in the shop till I'd mention how many hours were on it! Still have it 1969 model with side counsel!
Looks clean! You can order whole new decals for the kabota. They are not hard to take off and easy to put new ones back on. It is nice to have things look good for at least a few years.
Long time viewer, first time commenter....Ok well it's you that mentioned comments, so :). Please show more of the cows. Just hanging out for like for 5 minutes, it might seem boring to you, but city boy here finds it very relaxing :) I love all your videos, thanks for sharing part of your life.
Eric, thanks! I have learned so much. Could you please make a video explaining what all the levers do in the tractors and skid loaders? I'll prolly never get to drive them, so it would be cool to know. Thanks! Blessings to you and yours.
Love your videos..... I know this comment has nothing to do with today’s video but haven’t seen your lovely doggies for ages especially Sasha with the twigs/leaves in her mouth ❤️
That's not old. It runs on diesel and has more than two Pistons, that you turned over by hand with a large heavy flywheel to start it, with a tricycle front end, and a hand clutch. Now that's old. Oh yeah, and across from the flywheel is a flat belt pulley to run the threshing machine, and grinding mill.
Sorry I cannot afford your tshirts , I’m COVID poor but I try to watch all the ad’s and support you in every way I can! I love your farm family life Eric! Your Dad too!
I'm making this comment so RU-vid will promote your videos more (I didn't know this made a difference 'till you mentioned it)... and to tell you thanks for the excellent videos.
