John Deere Dealer vs. Box Store Riding Mower, X320 & L120

Have a 20 year old L120. Did the equivalent of an airline “D” check and took it completely apart. R&Red every thing, had the frame pan & deck sandblasted & powder coated. It’s good for another 20 years.

Sir I have a 24 John dear s100 mower it came from the John dear factor factory in Kentucky and I love it I have a steep hill in front of my home and I can mow it cross ways and it mows my lawn so now ce I love mowing with it

If you own real Deere you can just look at the box store mowers and see the difference. l bought my first Deere in 71. It's a 110 and it is still mows today. My grandson fixed it up to like new. Old grandpa has a JD ZTURN and bought it at our local dealership. Love that machine.

I am confused, but I don't want to be labled a "Jack Ass that corrects you on your videos". I have what I feel are legitimate questions. Are you comparing Big Box store sold mowers vs company store mowers? It seems to me that if that is what the video is about, wouldn't you compare a JD L120 sold at a Big Box store to a JD L120 that is sold at a John Deere dealer. Here our JD dealers sell the same mowers that are at Home Depot and Lowes. Also, wouldn't you compare an L!20 to another, rather than an L120 with an X320. The L120 retailed for $2299 in 2005, as compared to an X320 that retailed for $4099 in 2006. To me that seems like comparing Cheverolet to Cadillac. When I worked for a Big Box store and got less expensive JD's in, they were made in Greenville Tennessee, and the more expensive ones were made in Horicon, Wisconsin. I actually asked the JD rep. "Are these made by MTD like the Troy-bilt and he said JD has never been made by MTD. I am sorry if you look at me as a jackass, but I was confused by your video.

My D155 has some normal wear and tear issues. At 255 hours,still stands almost as brand new. And I use for everything..:including caring wood,rocks,dirt,sand etc….and I abuse it,pulling over huge hills too.

Ive got a Honda 3011 rear engine rider from 1989. You would not believe how well its built.

No matter where its made at that's a John Deere quality issue. They need better standards like back in the old days when quality was number 1 and the customer came first befor the greedy desk jockeys.

Not for nothing you have to compare the same model, that would make more sense of course different models make them different mowers or tractors depending how you look at things

My son n law has the L120 and I have 2 X320'S, I don't like the plastic pulleys on either one of them and the x320 hood is about as sorry of a hood they could have made.

I’ve got an older mower that I can’t find much info on. Should I feel confident that my xl280 with low hours is pretty durable/ heavy duty compared to big box mowers?

i wouldnt trade my briggs for anything la 125 14 years old no issues no rust and i have a e130 4 years old awesome just not a kawasucky fan lol

I dont think people understand what hes showing, hes demonstrating what your money can get you at a box store vs a dealership. Its not the experience hes talking about, its the quality of the machine that is sold at said places.

I get the idea of the thicker deck in the X300 but you really need to recheck your thickness measurement with the dial calipers on the metal, not one-handing it with a camera in your hand and calling it a quarter inch. The dial spun a full .100" at least as you pulled it off the deck. Slow down, and take your time, dude.
