Just a side note ,I ran a 1086 when new made in the 80s ,the cab filter was over the back window and every time you closed the door the filter would self clean ,you never ever had to clean it manually even in extreme conditions and the air vents were up in the top of the cab and you were always cool. These new tractors have gone backwards in many ways .

Great review Ryan! I agree with you with the air vents. It’s like they built the entire tractor, and then on the final day of design and development realized they didn’t put any air vents anyplace at all so someone said we’ll just throw them all on the steering column and call it good 😂

Great video, Ryan! I've been waiting for this! :D BTW, at 8:26, those buttons are used to record the end-of-row sequence, it basically runs different functions at the end of your pass. One would engage the auto-steer on the AFS 700 display, which isn't mounted in this tractor, or by pressing the button on the bottom of the throttle. :)

It’s great to see case on a Deere farm. We farm 45 minutes north of eau Claire Wisconsin and we have all 80’s internationals like 1086 1066 1466 etc. the only thing Deere on our farm is the ur lawnmower 😂😂😂😂. Hopefully we will get some demos or opportunities soon. Thx Ryan

Amazing these new tractors

I was raised IH but I’ve been impressed with John Deere on some applications and I currently use John Deere. Tractors again are so similar that you can’t say one is better than the other.

The hidden buttons are for auto end row function. The auto steer button is right by the 3pt controls

The little black plastic on the roof of the cab is the microphone for your phone when you connect to BlueTooth.

The fun fact is that older case tractors, (I am specifically speaking for a 5120 pro 1999-2000 model we owned for a few years), it had 4 air vents up top in front, one on each side, and I think two at the back...

I don’t know if you ever figured it out or what, but you have to use the left hand reverser to take it out of park, BUT you don’t going between forward and reverse, you can do it on the throttle

I have minimal experience with the newer tractors, but I believe MOST brands make reliable equipment these days, or they will struggle to maintain dealer relations and farmers will vote with their patronage. So, having said that, one of the biggest factors in choosing a brand of equipment to invest in is based on the location of the servicing dealer. I tend to shop locally and having access to parts and supplies is just as important as the competence of the servicing dealer.

on the magnum 210 we had that had the monitor in it for the GPS and the controls were not covered

Good video Ryan I've run some of cases heavy equipment and a lot of it I don't understand where they design the switches and the way they put things either but on the other side of that almost everybody does about the same thing the video

I drove a Magnum 200 and a JD 7230R just recently, and by far the JD is a nicer tractor all around. My only gripe (albeit petty), was that the JD radio did not have bluetooth on it. Millenial problem for sure. Also, I liked the powershift in the JD over the Case as well. I did like the throttle control on the Case over the JD. The clutch on the JD was smoother and rode nicer in the field and on the road.

Its probably considered an economy model. Just like truck a different trim level .... GMC Sierra or Dinali. Ford XL or XLT Lariat.

My wife has been in the metal finishing industry for 30+ years as technical support. Her clients have included many of the major wheel producing companies. She says the the paint is coming off because of a bad coating job.

It’s been a few years since I’ve driven a cab tractor last one was a 1984 Massey Furguson. The dash threw me off so use to having them in the front instead of the side post, Storage compartments would of been nice to have an the AC which I bet was great. Ours went ka putt! Number years back. Over all nice looking Case.

Great vid👍like our older handle control it’s simple with out cheap chrome. We have paint off rims which doesn’t look good but driven Magnum 8R n McCormick X7 all ride same nice n smooth. New 2020 Magnum has better cabin,👍

The back wall in the tractor cab where you could put tools and like a cooler or something is one big air conditioning unit it is really nice to put your drink there because it says cool we don’t have a case but the our New Holland TG215 is the same

One of the biggest annoyances I have with Case is if you have work lights on and you turn on the four way flashers the work lights shut off. Even on the quadtracs, so I’m having to drive home at night, in the dark with quadtrac and big implements and I have 2 dinky lights on in front and nowhere else. Makes turning with an air seeder at night impossible. So I usually settle for turning on the beacon and leaving 4ways off.

We sell both Case and New Holland. People often refer them to them as being the same, there are actually quite a few differences.

Most newer tractors like that have lights and flashers are on the side console

We've had Massey and caterpillar and now Deere and Deere is far better than anything else we've had

Our john deere 6190R and 6125m both have only air vents on the steering column like case

Visibility is pretty good too

Case puts the HVAC system under the seat. Sounds great, until you have to clean the evaporator. The whole cab floor, seat, and lower interior panels have to come off to get it at. Then you have to evacuate the A/C system and pull the HVAC box as an assembly. It's an 8 hour job that should take 30 minutes like it would if they put it in the roof. And since you cannot open any of the windows, it is impossible to run the thing in the summer without air conditioning. JMO after spending thousands of hours in a Case Maxxum 110. It's a pile of junk.

I hate that air vent on the buddy seat on ours... You literally freeze your ass off when you are sitting in the buddy seat. Not all the new holland and cases are the same... the Magnums are their own tractor.

I have never had anything against case. Being a JD and MF guy that has a case mx180 and 2 666 case internationals but I had to choose Jd would be first, then MF, then Case. Love the videos! Keep up the great work! One famous person once said "WHAT THE HECK IS THAT THING"

I have been in a few case tractors at some farm shows they didn't had that controlle stick it was just like in the new holland you had only different color of the joystick ore what ever its called I drove a new holland to once verry nice tractors indeed.

The reason they have a wiper on the right side is for grain cart work next to a combine, with the left side they would have to make it so the cords moved with the door. They don't let that small left window open because of safety and with modern A/C you shouldn't have to have a window open. If they ran vents to the ceiling the complexity would be far greater. Also with the A/C is the auto temp control sensor is in that vent by the door, if you find that the temp is off from what you want it make sure the vent didn't get closed.

The turn button on the handle can also be used to engage the auto steer. No just the button that you said was misplaced

We have a majority of john deere but we do have a Magnum 315 and a Steiger 435 that do just as good as out deere tractors

Can’t really say much till u get a bigger magnum. Those smaller ones are so basic. Big ones got all of the swanky stuff on them

Case tractors are definitely different than john deere hahaha I have ran both and at the farm we have 6 magnums all ranging from a 7250 to the mx series to the new magnums like this one and the full size ones, they are really reliable, our dealer is like an hour and a half away, but they stay in pretty good shape and we don't break down much, he also have like 9 older john Deere's , 2 4960s 2 4955s 3 4440s and a couple others they are all amazing! But black thing on the roof is a microphone for the bluetooth calling, the auto steer is the little wheel wheel that says auto, the controls under the arm rest are just for recording your turn sequence.. to actually use the turn sequence and even set you GPS there is a button on the controller that engages it so is always in you fingers reach.. the wheel can be set to stay up and just tilt but I do agree it could be better worked because sometimes you can forget about it and it will not be set just how you like it lol! The newer and bigger hp tractors are a lot better in then cab and on my farm we have a case 180 and 245 and they are newer and have much more air vents

We Own A new 6155r and i Think trat nearly every critical point you said is away. But there are little other critical points with the "modern technic", for example that it takes really much time to learn everything about the right usage of the display/computer... 1 year we own this think and i can just nearly everything In 2017 we bough a fendt 313 (139hp) and it is just a perfect tractor.... everything is made out of good high quality materials, you have many options to change things on the display and you can build the interface of the display like you want it. It's quiet and don't needs much fuel and it hasn't much weigt which is really good for transports. But all in all i would say that the tractor for this price is a good option, because jd and fendt are much more expencive... (German, 16yo)

Case hasn’t really changed the cabs on the magnums since they came out with the mx series tractors. I have a mx200 on the manure spreader at work and it’s pretty much the same cab design. It’s been a good tractor, it has over 21,000 hours on it and the engine hasn’t been touched yet! We bought a used 235 to replace it on the tmr for the dairy and since we got the def system deleted on it it’s been a good tractor. Before we did that it was a pile of crap, always broken down.

I'm not sure how many hours you were able to put on this tractor. I thought to myself when you put the first video out for this case. Man this is a bad time of the year to Demo a tractor. There's not much going on right now in the farming industry unless your out doing hay or maybe spraying. Would have been nice to pull a grain wagon behind it for a week or something with a load on it. It sure does look pretty. But the cab seems tight to me from what I've seen.

Placing the light switches on the forward console allows the operator to adjust lights to as-needed settings while viewing WHERE HE is Driving. My experience in 33 years of flying jets is that some devices, depending on their nature, should be located where one can maintain vehicle control while adjusting controls that affect their vision.

You should demo a versatile next.

Ryan, it depends on the level of spec that you order from Case IH. You can order a luxury version if you wish.

The new magnums have a windshield wiper on the door

New Holland and case ih merged and are now both mostly owned by fiat, and the NH is the higher end restyled version of case I think.

Those are not autosteer controls under the armrest cover. They are for recording automatic headland turn sequence. (Remotes, gear changes, guidance engage etc). You use those buttons to record the end or row sequence. You can then step through the sequence using the little button on the button of the joystick.

That magnum is pretty and I’m a case guy but I still watch you I do like your 4840

That's kind of the thing. A Case guy would probably have gripes with how JD controls are laid out. It's all a matter of what your used to. Don't know much about these, but I love the 90s era magnum tractors. Great machines

There is a reason case is case. Cause it stands for Can't Afford Something Else. They just cheap out on things to cut cost and increase profit for them.

Mine the auto steer can be engaged on the main switch and has the pro700 easier to operate than the deere

I may not be a farmer but have driven few tractors. Ryan did good job of review and hopefully CNH takes in consideration on next models. Oh, I'm NH fan. 🙄

As an agriculture engineer all you have to do is study the basic functions of a tractor and you'll see what Case IH and it partners have done to keep it as simple as the culture has been old

as a non farmer, i would think that during the day working, you can get pretty dirty. so the only thing i would like different about the tractor, would be a dark interior instead of that light one

Massey do not have it on the back corner post. They have it on the middle post. I have 6 pretty new masseys :)

DEF wasn't draining back from the engine it was draining back from the exhaust system. Contrary to what it seems that most people seem to think the engine does not use DEF. That just isn't so. It is used to clean NOx from the exhaust gases. Just one of my basically unimportant pet peeves.

Nice review I like the case tractors the ones here in Europe are made in Austria and they are well put together but you're right some of the plastics are cheap feeling but I believe the new Magnum for the year 2020 is a big improvement on quality

Dont know much on them. I watch a lot of auctions and window shop. Seems they dont retail as good as a deere. And fade to a nasty color if not shedded. Most blue and red dealers closed around here. Getting ran off by kubota. Lol

That Magnum is probably a 2010 to 2012. You would like the newer 2016 to 2020 magnums more.

Have you been in the new 2020 Magnum? Completely different.
