John Deere X590 Deck Leveling

I think the change happened in 2023 when they changed the seat suspension to a 4-point style. Just my guess…

@@HobbyUniverseOutdoors That is correct; I bought a "leftover" new 2022 model in mid-2023; the changes for 2023 were the seat suspension upgrade to X700 style, green painted deck, and removal of the X500-specific vented hood center panel in favor of the solid X300 style hood.

Thanks for the follow-up. I like the improved seat suspension but didn’t realize it was from the X 700 series models. That makes sense.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I have an LA 115 that is similar to your 165. You’re correct, on those tractors you do want to slightly lower the front of the deck once the standard leveling process is completed. That avoids double cutting which is bad for the grass and uses more horsepower. On the X500 series that use a leveling gage, that slight tip is built into the measuring point on the front of the deck. If done properly, the blades will be slightly lower when measured in the front. Now, with all that being said, I’ve never verified that. I might actually do that to see what I find. It’s a good point.
