I’ve had one of these for years. One tip if you don’t mind me sharing . If you’ll put the grubber about 2’ up or so from the ground it’ll work a lot better. I used to put them down like you are but by mistake my friend was helping and he put it up hi and there was no resistance at all. I was surprised. Just an idea.
I have the same tree grubber as you now! I love this thing! I had a one that was a tough one, it would not be able to come out, with out the 4 wheel drive, but that’s why I upgraded to a X739 for the 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel steer! And I’m hoping there will be a huge difference this winter with the 4 wheel drive.
Thanks for watching. The tree grubber is deifinitely worth the investment. Make yanks out unwanted small trees easy. The AWD X739 will no problems in snow.
That's pretty neat. Would it be a little easier and maybe safer to cut the tree down from about 3 or4 feet off the ground first. Then you could hook up your device, run a shorter chain and not worry about hitting your tractor. Plus you'd probably get a little more traction with a shorter chain. Anyway, great video as usual.
I've seen some guys use an old tire on the rim to put the chain over next to the tree. This makes the chain pull upwards some besides shearing the tree parallel to the ground. You might be able to pull larger trees this way. I did use my box blade scarifier to cut the ground a few feet away from the tree and this seemed to help on larger trees.
Thanks for watching! I've heard that using a old tire/rim works quite well too. I like your idea of scarfing the ground a bit around the tree to make it come out easier too.
Thanks for watching. You can find the Brush Grubber BG-08 on Amazon : --> www.amazon.com/Brush-Grubber-BG-08-Heavy-duty/dp/B001DZLJPQ/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3T48GC575X1GR&keywords=brush+grubber+bg-08&qid=1575505347&sprefix=brush+grubber%2Caps%2C866&sr=8-1
Thanks for watching and your comment. No I do not have a bush hog for my tractor. It's one implement that I never had a need for. I've heard that a 4' one is best suited for this size of tractor though.
Wouldn’t just wrapping a chain around the trunk do the same? I’ve done it that way with a winch and 4x4x6ft lever post. Not fun. Hopefully when the x738 arrives it will be a lot easier. In the meantime I Would like to know what this $75 device does differently than just the chain. Tgx
Thank for watching. I've done the chain thing for many years and have found that it can work "most" of the time. I have found that using the chain will not always grab the tree/shrub and will 1) just strip the bark off it or 2) just bent the tree and slide off. Another issue is that you have to wrap the chain around which sometimes can be a pain in the a$$. I just find that using the Brush Grubber HD is much easier for me to use as I'm not a spring chicken anymore.
@@X748SE I hear yah. I just turned 60 and while I can still do a lot of heavy duty work it’s the next day that reminds me of how old I’m getting lol. Thanks again, and you definitely have a good point about what a pain it is to wrap chain.
I've seen them grubbers but the trees I want down are much bigger and I don't think my 1026 could pull the big ones out. :) Might just be the thing when I pull the vines out though. I have some vines that are bigger around then the trees you just pulled out.
You can find it on Amazon :--> www.amazon.com/Brush-Grubber-BG-08-Heavy-duty/dp/B001DZLJPQ/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2CG1S48NYDQQA&keywords=brush+grubber&qid=1567038214&s=gateway&sprefix=brushg+grubber%2Caps%2C247&sr=8-1 But I got mine from a farm store.
Спасибо за просмотр! Трактор - это маленький садовый трактор, который идеально подходит для моих нужд. Цепочка и щетка-захват могут определенно принимать большее усилие.
Thanks for watching. I've used a chain in the past too but on certain young trees the chain doesn't choke it enough or the just bark strips off. On these type of trees the Brush Grubber definitely beats using just a chain.
Yo, cut the damn tree down, leaving a two foot stump. Unless you like getting your shiny john deere scratched up. You look like the kinda guy who's gotta have a chain saw. Oh, and you could have pulled those trees down by yourself. Don't you have any bigger stumps to pull?
Thanks for watching. Why get a chainsaw out when you don't have to? The way I did it does everything (root and tree) in one swoop and saves time. These scrub trees were relegated to the burn pile as they don't chip up very well.
