sitting here in isolation on my 40th birthday after doing a 12 hour shift in a nursing home looking after the most vulnerable people, the people that made our present!!! have learned alot of positives during this hard time and music is one of them!! this album is by far the most lifting album ! thank you!!!!

Without a shadow of a doubt, this is still one of the best, if not best EVER mixes ever. Each song, the smooth mixing, listening to this in 2024 it still sounds as good as when it first came out

the hours these legends must have spent in countless record stores back then. no laptops. no internet. no sync buttons. just ears and desire. librarians of music. fucking absolutely incredible.

Perfection - ideal for a long drive alone in the car

It's still an absolutely top-notch mix from John Digweed from 1994, i remember buying this on cassette(green cover) special memories. Who's listening in 2019

The mix from Slam into Volcano (about 30 mins in) is absolute perfection!

Absolute boss mix this. Still gets its rotation now. When I heard the 'new' mix of Slam the other year at XOYO, this was mix was the reason that made the hairs stand on end. Not sure what happens towards the end.. probably two fingers up to the club cheese at the time... but overall a standard that few have bettered, other than himself.. and maybe his partner in crime at the time ;).

Almost hitting the 30 year mark! One of the ladies at work was listening to this as I was playing it and she really liked it! I said to her music was so much better back in the day!

Only cd I ever wore out! Was working in a record shop when this came out. Still listen to this mix at least once a week. Pure class Digweed is a legend!

I bought all the early JDJ CD's but this one was by far my favourite.

Classic Digweed!!! My favorite cd from 1994 👍

This mix is a perfect companion to the first Renaissance album. Like that album, it's was released just before everything became much more segregated. Fast forward a year and the likes of Digweed, Sasha and Dave Seaman were playing a much more regimented mid 90's trance/progressive sound. This mix, like the Mix Collection 1, is so more varied.

Was just coming out of my Rave era in 1994, and this mix changed my musical scope. This and the Renaissance mix part 2 CD 3 is just so damn good 👍

Long, smooth, sweet transitions. An art forgotten by the recent breed of DJs. This was an inspiration to me, and the ultra lesson in how it's done.

Played this CD so much we wore it out, Peach at the Leisure Lounge, Bagleys and The MoS...hedonistic mayhem!

Digweed was so ahead of his contemporaries back then. I'm a fan of Danny Rampling, but compare the previous volume of JDJ to this and it's just on whole different level in track selection and mixing. Mixed in one take on 1210's too. Wowzers trousers.

found this on CD for £2 at a local shop while trying to find some new tunes and it's instantly become one of my favourite mixes ever it's so fckin smooth and funky , when did this come out? 94? my friends and I are only 19/20 ish but this sounds so fresh and we all get down it. big up

I can't believe I just stumbled back into this mix again had most of JDJ CD's back in the early 90's man oh man the memories SOMA (South of Market) in san francisco in the middle of of the night trying to find where the party was going to was going to be the ones @ the ACME wharehouse where some of the fucking best so where the ones @ big heart ❤ city that damn dark alley entrance the abandoned pier warehouses right under the bay bridge with all of it' s lights and all this tunes playing by all of the big names of the times tenaglia, dj dan, the wiked sound system Garh, Jeno, mark farina, do doc martin, dj sneak, deep dish (before they became rubbish MAW, Hell even dj keoky whom I didn't really cared for and all the local talent spun, carlos, jelly bean benitez, Harry who, and so many other damnn you city, damnn you !! and your seductive power clandestine meetings filled with wierd caracters and fun friends mornings at dawn walking out of the house banging parties that inarguably pumped life into your forgotten corners dark alleys abndoned warehouses & empty docks where our swet, our inocence, our reckless abandon, our lust, and fearles quest for identity and wonderous spirits meet as ONE !! no diferences of any sort only suport and love as the punding of the thundering bass and the piercing lazer beams gided us into unrestricted pleasurable bliss damnn you city, damnn you city

Still own all the JDJ cd's. This from Diggers along with Paul Oakenfold's are easily the best. Billy Nasty's was class too. Love the mix of deep inside played here by John.

Bought this on release in the early 90’s. Still one of JD’s best released sets to this day. Superb start and the second track is arguably BT’s finest piece of work! Some great house and early prog. So many good nights seeing JD across the UK in the early days and at the Renaissance residencies down South or up North in Glasgow. Great times for techno, acid house, prog and emerging styles back then. Still is today, but back then it was new, underground and a very different scene. When the government and police hated the scene,…now we have chill out rooms in most big corporate offices! So much of that underground scene has permitted into our day to day lives now. The power of a movement! 💪

This CD was 'the one' for so much of the 90s. In the car, before clubbing and after, during sex and shopping in Kwik Save. Fabulous and stands the test of time. Thanks for uploading.

The mix into leftfield Is just beautiful..one of my favourite CDs of all time ..lost many a night with this cd being the soundtrack ... Happy days indeed.

Hey John, we met at The Liquid Room, Edinburgh a few years ago, briefly. This is still an outstanding piece of work. I recall when it was first released and all the hype and paranoia. Tom Wilson on Forth One played on air (radio) the whole thing one night and the company behind it went nuts, oh the good old days. 2023 and still a beautiful experience, some absolute classic tracks, Drowning Man is so now. Soundscapes are one thing but straight up dance tracks are just that and when put together like this was, well lets have re interp with technology. Just a thought. God bless you John.

I was into Hardcore & Jungle around this time but I bought this on cassette & it changed my life! The programming, tunes & mixing was nothing like I'd heard before. I learnt to mix from this learning timing etc. John Digweed, one of the best to ever grace the decks! Then the Renaissance mix collection came out around the same time. The rest is history. Absolutely fken brilliant set; and I’d totally forgotten ‘keep on truckin’ was on this! 😂 makes me chuckle to hear how it goes from Leftfield to that, only John could pull that off! and it’s a nice nod to the local connection with Norman Cook 👍🏻 (and we loved to spin the flip side of that one ‘Chinese eyes’ )too)

A lesson on how to build a set, mix different styles of house music seamlessly, and en-trance a dance floor. Bought it on cd when it first came out and i still love it!
