John Dowland - La Mia Barbara (P95) - Lute - Luth 

Because of Sting's work with the Lute, I have been looking to see what else I could find ... very glad to find your work here on RU-vid ... thank you for your effort ... I find I can listen at any hour of the Day, my preferred choice

What a tour de force but worth the effort because the performance is absolutely beautifully. I enjoyed it a lot. Dowland should have composed more longer pieces, not to make the life of performers more difficult but for the listener to be able to set his mind into the mood/flow of such a wonderful piece.

@siggiag The most difficult for a classical guitarist is to cut his nails... (and to play double strings it is better with no nails...) The right hand position is quite different too. But many lutenist are coming from the guitar. Just give a try... ;-) Good luck ! Val

Hello, look for the Lute Society of your country for links to makers. Some cheap lutes can be found on the net (not great quality...) and lute makers are making lutes from 1500 to ... much more ;-) Good luck ! (mine here is around 4500 euros)

How much would one pay for a lute? I've been playing classical guitar for a number of years and am thinking of trying the lute!

@Luthval I will look at his site, I'm impressed. I also make lutes, please see web site link on my channel. The one in my vieos has a bit of rattle sometimes, but that's me picking a bit hard and just being a bit sloppy lol. Thanks, Dan
