@@edwardsherry Correct, but to be fair he could probably do it just as well on guitar. Last night he had a bouzouki with 9 strings on it, deliberately so. He also had a guitar. I could not swear which he used for this song.

I like this song. It would be nicer if the tempo was a little slower and you could hear the audience in the verse. I like the verse going up to the 4 note on fall down, 4, fall down, fall 4, me billy, were' bound a 5, away to A merikay, fall down me Billy oh shay.
When I filmed it I plugged into the sound board and also had two live mics facing John and the speakers. The board gets no audience as it is coming from his mics. The live mics pick up a bit of the audience but not that much unless I turned a mic towards the audience. Best I can do :-)
That was a quick response, this a real treat being able to talk to my favorite music makers live. You should hear what I did to his other song. Bitter the parting.
Hearing a room full of people singing a chorus really does add something to these folk songs, When I ran a folk music jam. I did everything to make this happen, a lot of people got mad too.
Fox Inhenhouse We have the same problem with live recordings, started micing the audience but muting the channels from the mix to FOH, but it does capture their reaction for re-mixing purposes...
