This hit my RU-vid this morning, as I was having my morning coffee, before going to work. I didn't have much extra time to listen to it, but I did listen, to the end. I couldn't put it down, it was so good. JFK was a blessing to our country, and I believe would have done so much more, had he lived. I was only 2 yrs old when he died, so I have no memory of that time, but for some reason, listening to this audio, i had tears streaming down my face. RIP John F. Kennedy, your passing was a great loss to our country, and to the world. Thank you Mr. Wong, for posting this audio.
Read Rynan Turbridy's book JFK in Ireland for full details of the story and De Valera's reaction to JFK's words about Leinster House. I didn't know there was a vesion of JFK's speech to the Irish parliament available that contained the words edited out by De Valera. An amazing video!!
RFK's speech during riots about Civil Rights and right after finding out MLK had been gunned down; on a truck one of the best speeches and touching speeches ever after hearing of the death of MLK and announcing to a huge crowd!
This a very interesting. This is the original uncut version of JFK's speech to the Irish Parliament. Where did you find this. The words " Leinster House was never known for its bright ideas" was cut from the original speech because De Valera the president of Ireland thought the words were insensitive and told JFK he should not have said them. Where did you get this uncut version?
Gert Landsmin it’s on the jfk library’s website. I think this recording must’ve been from an American in the room and there’s the edited video that Ireland recorded
