Lisa Edwards was a neighbour of Mine & the most beautiful gentle person you will ever meet (& is Not about being in the Spotlight)....She lives quietly (& is a Single Mother to a now 18yo daughter who sings as well & sing together for children cancer charities)....Lisa is a very very "shy, quiet, humble, peace loving person"...She is the most beautiful gentle soul you'll ever meetl!!!....John Farnham is like her soul Brother of 30yrs as his back-up singer which She has been sterotyped & greatly known as....Lisa did have a few Solo albums released....but privately outside of John Farnham & the music biz - Now-a-days she is a private Singing Teacher!!!
Singing for John is SO EFFORTLES !!! He can and does sing all genre's of music, jazz, rock, pop, ballads etc. Lisa his backing singer has been a part of career for many years now, she's a sweetheart and gets and understands his sense of humour. John has a great personality, kind and a wicked sense of humour, he is SO loved here in Australia and his friends in the entertainment businesses around the world. Lisa is one of his back-up singers who, along with Venetta Fields and Lindsay Field (note: these are different surnames and Venetta and Lindsay are not related). They featured in John's shows. He always acknowledges everyone else as if to suggest they make him look good. Even though we know otherwise, he is a very grateful man who appreciates the support and love of his fellow musicians as well as his fans. Their rendition of Amazing Grace is (pardon the pun) ... amazing! 😊

John is what we in Australia 🇦🇺 would affectionately call an 'Aussie larrikin'. He doesn't take himself too seriously, and values his connection with the audience as much as he values the music and the people he performs with. It's just another reason we have, and continue to love him.
Also, I think, he holds the mic quite far compared to usual, so as not to overpower her voice. In doing so, he drops his power quite a bit, so that she is not overshadowed :) Loved John Farnham for years :) Greetings from New Zealand :)
John is a consumate performer he is at home with his audiences he is a natural comediean and I've never met anyone who didn't love him . Lisa was his backup singer for years and compliments his voice in most of his live performances and his recordings . Every member of his stage shows is a star in his or her own right . Check out his songs PLAYING TO WIN , COOL CHANGE or his rendition of LONG WAY TO THE TOP but make sure its a live performance they are always better .
John 'thinks' he's funny hahaha... his poor band have been putting up with his antics for over 30 yrs (probably closer to 40 now ! )... it is a testament to his character and personality that they still drop everything to record/tour whenever he decides he's ready.... John is a rare talent but also a rare human being. He's been married to the same lady (Jilly) since 1973 - so their 50th wedding anniversary is coming up in 2023.... just a pure and good person. Probably why we Aussies love him and are very protective. We love that you have discovered what we see - Thank you !
I have been going to johns concerts since I was a teenager (I am now 68yrs) and he is still as good, friendly and funny as ever. He loves to sing and he loves his fans. It's personal for him. He wants to give you his all every time, and he does, even now in his 70's.

I grew up listening to John in the 70s…. and appreciate it a lot more after going to one of his concerts in the early 90s. He is now 70+ and still has an amazing voice. Pleased to see his talent is now being appreciated by others on the other side of the world. 👍🇦🇺

If you keep watching you will find videos of John performing from around 17yo right up till he is into his 70's. He is also a very funny guy, with lots of banter and fun between song. Yes that is Lisa Edwards. She has been one of his backing singers since 1987/88 and has sing with him at just about every concert he's ever done since then. Along with Vanetta Feilds and Lindsay Feilds. Check out the 3 of them performing Amazing Grace.
He has only last week undergone a marathon surgery for mouth cancer where they have to remove some of his jaw and replace it. Currently in ICU with all of Australia praying for him. He is so loved here and we just want him to live, if he sings again it will be a bonus 💕💕
John is a comic. You must watch The Main Event is a concert he did with opera singing Anthony Warlow and Olivia Newton-John especially the songs Granada and the Grease songs with Olivia. The whole concert is fantastic and 3 Aussie legends together ❤️

My favorites are ALL the songs from their "Full Circle" concert as "Birtles, Sharrock & Gobel". Even the intro done a cappella is absolutely amazing! Beeb singing "Night Owl" is my very favorite!😊
John’s quite the comedian and he knows Lisa so well (she was his background singer for many years) he likes to mess around and make people comfortable. There’s a video of them rehearsing this and she does the same back to him and he just can’t stop laughing!! Beautiful song this! PS it’s not different because of the age, trust me he is still belting out You’re the Voice in his 70’s! He can just sing anything!
John Farnham is funny. He's very good with banter and clever quips. He entertains his audience with such throughout his concerts in between songs. Apparently when he did the concerts with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra they commented that they had never had so much fun. He always gives recognition to his band and vocal backing singers, Lisa Edwards being one of the latter. He is such a lovely and good man and yes, a gentleman. His mother-in-law jokes are "disrespectful" but are tongue-in-cheek and really an on-going joke with her! John works so well with other voices such as Olivia Newton John and many others, but the most incredible harmony is Jimmy Barnes and Tina Turner. Their duet of Simply The Best is quite incredible.
There have to be slow songs in a concert, and he either chooses beautiful songs, or writes his own beautiful songs. He has to catch his breath at some point

John is now in his 70 and he can still sing,he doesn’t do concerts but we had bad bush fire and floods so we had concerts to raise money for the people and John turned up for both of them and the crowd went crazy when he sang.

Fun Fact - Lisa Edwards also released a few solo singles, but her release of 'Cry' in 1992 was her most successful when the song reached Number 5 on the Australian Single Charts (ARIA Charts). He is known as The Voice in Australia and has been for 40 years. And songs really show why. You noticed how powerful his is by how far hw holds the mic. He pretty much belts the seconds half of song in the upper register until the end, and he in his 50's.
THE VOICE. John is the best & a thoroughly lovely person too. Lisa has been singing back up to John for many years as well as putting out her own Solo work. . That's why this looks like such an effortless blend - but a LOT of effort goes into making something look & sound this effortless. And the harder job is the back-up singer's complementary melodic line, staying on this and not getting drawn off into the lead melody. Compliments to ALL the backing vocalists everywhere too. 👋👋👋

John loves playing with the audience. As well as being the most insanely amazing singer, he's a great entertainer. Lisa has been with him for years and sings perfectly with him.
I have listened to thousands of singers over the years and John would be in my top 5, my all-time favorite singing performance of Johns is the performance as "Jesus" in "Jesus Christ Superstar" singing "Gethsemane", would love you to do a reaction video of it. I love this video! Lisa Edwards has been with him since the 80s even though she had her own amazing career. She gets even with him at a birthday party on video & does the same thing to him! We should've warned you guys about how funny John can be! I think that's the reason John & Home Free are the only ones I really care to watch right now. They're all incredibly talented but also humble, kind, generous, down to earth & just plain fun & even goofy🤪 at times! 😊
John can be so funny, quiet a lot. A beautiful review from both of you. He even sang Old McDonald Had A Farm lol. He always acknowledges his singers and his band. It’s never been all about himself. Love how you love our John You've picked up and commented on so many things that make this man just a wonderful performer and human. You will see John thanking and acknowledging his backing singers and musicians during his live performances, many of whom have been with him for years. There's a great video of John performing and Lisa is sitting in the crowd, having just had a baby. And he shouts her out and makes a few jokes. It just goes to show much much he truly loves his band. I know he won't do anything without his long-time musical director, Chong Lim.
John entertains with little snips of comedy through his concerts between songs. One you would enjoy is Granada, a singing/comedy duet with the amazing Anthony Warlow, an Aussie opera and musical theatre legend. They reference Anthony in Phantom of the Opera during their chat.
Loved your reaction to this. Lisa Edwards has a great voice and compliments Farnsy perfectly. His other backup singer Venetta Fields is also brilliant. Farnsy's concerts are always brilliant, and yes he's quite the comedian. Watching this I remembered one outdoor concert in 2014 at Caversham Winery when John came out of retirement (again) and performed as the support act to Lionel Richie from the Commodores. I don't think Lionel Richie was aware of just how popular and brilliant Farnsy was, as he completely upstaged Lionel Richie. The crowd couldn't get enough of Farnsy. As always he was awesomely entertaining, to the point that when he did get off stage around 9.30-9.45pm and Richie came on people started leaving. Lionel Richie was very good, but we'd all just experienced the best with Farnsy and Richie couldn't compete with that.
To think he was a 19 year old plumber's apprentice when he gave singing a shot.........think what we would have missed if he'd stayed playing with water pipes.

Marcia HINES, "Shinning", please...🤔🙏😘👍 I agree his voice is on top...The mixing in this performance is poor. They should have lift her voice ever so slightly so she could be heard better. As it is this is just another 'excuse" for women to complain of men's patriarchal dominance over women. Perhaps it is John concert. He may have just invited her to join him on stage, I don't know. But I feel they should have given more weight to her voice.
