When I was 11, my mum took me to my first concert. It was Farny's Full House tour. I grew up and became a session singer, and every time I was on a big stage or in a studio working on something I felt was just too BIG for me, I thought of being little in 1991 and copying everything John Farnham did with my voice. Turns out even after two and a half years of tertiary music training I still went back to what I learned from copying him when the gig was a bit scary. The best bit is... my mum got a flat tyre that night after the concert and who followed us out the gate in the limo once we'd finally changed the tyre and left much later than the other punters? Whispering Jack himself. I nearly fell out the window waving to him from Mum's old car.
Richard Marx is a legendary US singer/songwriter. He has written many famous hits. Look up his catalogue. Married to the gorgeous Daisy Fuentes and still performing concerts.
My life would be so different if I didn't have John in it, I got a kiss on the cheek at 11 yrs old when he did a album sign and mini concert in Toombul shopping centre in 88. His voice soothes my soul. As I look back and watch and listen to old concerts I'm even more in absolute administration of this angelic man, the struggles he went to just to be him, truly him the man we know and love just makes me feel so very blessed and grateful to have found his music at a young age. I was "bullied" alot because of my love for John. And of course Richard Marx,, most young girls life in those days, another Magical soul, put them together and it's just heavenly.
