If i was a bloke I'd turn for him too. Haha. Keep enjoying John he is awesome. Its hard not to love hom so much....not just for his voice and great perfonalitiy...but also for his philanthropy. He has a huge heart and always the first inline to do a charity concert to support Aussies in need. He also did a great concert for the kids of Rwanda. There is just so much to love about thos man. ❤❤❤❤ and you guys see that .. Ps did you notice Tommy Emmanuel on guitar in the band ❤
Your comments are so great and you. always comment to my comments which I am on the edge or think I might have stepped one foot over by saying so you always make me feel like I didn't cross that line LOL. Yes, I love John. Everything about John and he is a very handsome man, no doubt about it. John has changed my life. And so how all of you. in January, we're going to celebrate altogether.
The man will change you with his voice this is no doubt. He has changed me in my life for the better no doubt about it. It's great to see you in the comments my friend
I'm truly grateful for your love and appreciation for "THE VOICE THE G.O.A.T." Your support means the world to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Definately happy to re watch anything with John singing. Afterall we do that everyday watching reactions to the same songs over and over with different reactors. Can never get enough of our Farnsey. And every performance John does of his songs is a little different from the one before. Just make sure you let people that you've reacted to the song before otherwise the keyboard warriors will might get antsy with you....Oh and we love that you are so reactive and interactive with your followers. Not too many reactors take the time to respond to every single comment. You guys are awesome for that and also for you obvious love of our guy. ❤❤ Ps I've heard John and Vanessa sing together at the Vines Concert in Perth 2019. There nothing on video though. Jon Stevens was there too. 😮
Man, I wish there was a recording of that. 😞 Thank you for the compliments. We try our best! Truthfully, it's just very rewarding to interact with fellow music lovers. Especially you Aussies. You always give us so much information and encouragement. Love you all! ❤️🤟
Thank you so much for your kind words! I really appreciate your support and I'm glad you enjoy watching John sing. It's always exciting to see how each performance is unique and different from the last. I'll definitely keep in mind to let people know if I've reacted to a song before to avoid any confusion. Thanks again for your support! And right behind Jenn you are a channel MVP
John sings everything with perfection, he is really an incredible artist. I think the best version of this song is when John performed at the Melbourne carols by candlelight in the mid 90’s with his 3 regular backing vocals. He sang “Mary’s boy child and you’ll never walk alone. Although this version is awesome I think the carols version was the best.
I appreciate your support and I'm glad you enjoyed John's performance! It's always great to hear from fans like you who appreciate his talent and the effort he puts into his music.
@@DannyLeeOGT I don’t think there are many performers, past or present that put as much into there performances as John. The passion and emotion, crowd participation and above all the respect he shows everyone, his fans and his magnificent band.
@@beresfordthompson1370 I agree. John puts everything he has into everything he does, which is truly amazing. Even after over 50 reactions now, John steal intrigues me every time.
John never fails to impress us with his incredible performances. But hey, let's not forget about the King himself! Elvis definitely knew how to rock this song. It's like choosing between two musical giants!
Wow! I've never heard John perform this iconic anthem. A bit of background, it was written by Rodgers and Hammerstein for the 1945 musical Carousel, and the original is operatic in style, befitting the times and the stunning soprano vocals of Shirley Jones. This song is now timeless, and has a fame which transcends the original. It was covered by numerous artists, but enjoyed a renaissance when reimagined by Liverpool pop group Jerry and the Pacemakers in 1963. It was adopted by Liverpool FC soon after, and the song took on a deeper meaning after the catastrophic fire at the Hillsborough stadium in 1989. It is now a beloved staple of artists worldwide and is also sung by football fans around the world. This is a deceptively difficult song to sing because of its range, but John of course makes it look effortless, managing both the low notes and the high with ease. This is the first time I've heard it with the blues arrangement, so I don't know whether the arrangement was someone else's, or John's. It doesn't matter - I love it regardless. Fantastic reaction guys, this was a real treat. And you will get back to Chain Reaction when the time is right ❤ I'll drop the original Rodgers and Hammerstein version in Reply in case the utube gods disapprove and block my comment. Knowing the story, it still makes me cry, but the story isn't necessary to appreciate the beauty of the song.
Hey there! So glad you enjoyed John's performance of this iconic anthem. It's a beautiful song with a fascinating history, and I'm thrilled that you loved it regardless of the arrangement. We also appreciate you Jennifer you are the channel MVP and. we love you for it. also I am happy to introduce you to songs you hadn't heard John do. That makes me feel better than anything that makes me truly feel like an honorary Aussie.
He does an amazing performance of this at Carols by Candlelight. In this performance- it’s hard to see with this video quality- the guitarist with blue shirt and vest is Tommy Emmanuel.
I appreciate your comment! It's always nice to have viewers who notice the details and share their insights. Tommy Emmanuel's performance is indeed amazing.
Well, thank you. We actually did after this because so many people requested it. I will put the ain't care for you so you don't have to go look for it. Thank you for watching, by the way.
Danny, we come to listen to you two, we’ve seen the videos so the quality isn’t an issue. But we do love to listen to you two, so by all means do them again. We’d enjoy it. We have a very famous poem that sums up Australia called My Country, and it has the lines: 'I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains, Of ragged mountain ranges, of drought and flooding rains. I love her far horizons, I love her jewel-sea, Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me!' I was a teen girl when John was at his prime. His sex appeal and charisma had no effect on us. 😂😂😂😂
@bobarris I was watching an interview once where he said he just gave up smoking without anything but just pure willpower and gave himself a month. His wife gave up at the same time and his parents and mother-in-law. Fantastic effort by all of them 👏🏻 👍 🙌
Thanks for watching! We appreciate your support. I especially do. So, can you send me a set list for the cold chisel concert you sent me? And I will start rocking and rolling on it, cuz I figured out how me and Greg can both react to it. Thank you again.
@@DannyLeeOGT PS it’s up to you if you want to react to it but I send concerts to people as gifts (instead of money) - they are not requests, and I don’t expect anything in return- just so you know. I’ve sent many concerts to reactors just as a way to show my support so I can’t remember which I sent you.
Imagine John as a boy soprano / choir boy who matured and learnt how to really sing........a bit like some guitar legends who never needed fast hands / fingers or floor gadgets or computers or autotune........they just pluck and bend strings and make you want to cry.
Wow, John's voice has come a long way from his choir boy days. I mean, he can still make you cry with just a few strings and some killer bends. Talent, man. Pure talent.
@@DannyLeeOGT I knew both of you would get what I meant comparing Johns talent to a master guitarist.... ..it might start in the grey matter, but Johns air skills are sublime like a guitarist who makes his guitar cry and sing without gadgets and gizmo's covering the stage floor. lol
He had a sore throat thats why he was chewing gum to keep his mouth moist. This was to raise funds for people affected by a 6 or 7 year drought that affected about 70% of the farming land. John always helped out with fundraisers. He is an amazing human ❤️ ♥️
Thank you so much for sharing this heartwarming story. It's people like John who make the world a better place. Let's all take a moment to appreciate his kindness and generosity.
Thanks for this video guys - I hadn't seen John's rendition of this well known tune. Great as always. By the way, Jimmy Barnes and his son David Campbell also did a live version of this song for the Xmas Carols by Candlelight show, which is also well worth checking out. As far as covers go, I would highly recommend that Kasey Chambers live cover of "Lose Yourself". Like John's version of "Help", you'll never think about the original song in the same way again. Kasey has a great voice reminiscent of a blend of Melanie Safka and Janis Joplin, and her cover takes the rap song to a whole another level. After watching that, you'll probably want to see more by her and I would recommend "Ain't No Little Girl" which she wrote. She has a live version which is good but the official video is pretty good too.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed John's rendition and I'll definitely check out the live version by Jimmy Barnes and David Campbell. And thanks for the recommendation of Kasey Chambers' cover of "Lose Yourself" Absolutely yes. I don't know, it may not have been in this reaction. I thought it was. I do mention in several reactions recently that I keep forgetting to do that. So I'm going to write it on my forehead LOL because yes, I've had that request for a very long time- I love when artists bring a fresh perspective to well-known songs. Can't wait to watch it!
John did this song a few times. Also during a concert that he did in Timor for the Aussie troops ...and my favourite which was at the Aussie Carols by Candle light. He has sung it several other times as well but those are 2 other great performances
@@oglschmittJimmy and his son David Campbell sang it one year for the Carols By Candlelight at the Sydney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne. Closer to Christmas it's a must-see. Bring lots of tissues.
Thank you for covering this. Wonderful voice. Thing is, John doesn't need instruments. His vocals are broad and full. I don't understand the 'poor' quality videos that you have watched. All of my reference videos, Anthony Warlow included are spectacular !
Sorry, this is totally on me. What I mean, I'm talking about on my end, my equipment, what we have been using to edit the videos was very poor quality, not the videos themselves. I'm so sorry for the confusion. although this video I was told wasn't the greatest of quality when it was uploaded. So you say you can have four different videos of the same song uploaded from four different people with four different software, and it'd be different qualities, even though it's the same performance. It's a little confusing. but I did not mean at all any of your suggestions being poor quality. It was totally miscommunication on my part. I definitely meant the software I was using was not up to par.
@@iceberg5220 I actually thank you very much. I never thought about it being taken the way you took it, which is a good thing. Because everyone can take things differently. So now, on my other reactions, I have explained to people who may have taken it the way you did, that that isn't how we mean it at all. We were talking about our technical difficulties. and in some cases, we are talking about the version which we already acting to doesn't have good quality, but most of the time it's our own tech that we are complaining about.. So thank you. Communication. and clarity is very much needed from the reactor to the listener.
Alright. I've done a lot of John Farnham reactions there. I don't remember on top of my head what I said in this video. but I won't tell you what I think about that question. There are many singers who are good at different things. My top 100 list are all great, But all in different ways some saying dark music, which makes me feel good in a certain way. Something sad music makes me feel good Some saying heavy music, some soft. Yes, John is amazing, The fact that I have done like over 60 John Farnham reactions should say. that yeah, the man's great. I don't do the whole judging, especially not putting one person above all the rest. I just don't do that. And it's subjective too. Some people think Prince was the greatest thing in the world. I do not. Some people love Angelina Jordan think she's just the best thing since sliced bread. I think she's overrated. But my favorite voice was Australian singer. Maybe any singer is Vanessa Amorosi
@@DannyLeeOGT I’ve got to agree with you about Vanessa. The way she can belt out those high notes and still have a really beautiful lower range too is really exceptional. John Farnham is probably the most versatile singer I’ve seen. I’ve seen him do musical theatre, rock, jazz, ballads and even a bit of light opera, and it’s all effortless. Enjoying your reactions by the way.😊
@@mssuziquzi Thanks mate let me the heck of a lot to me. I actually advocated for Vanessa for a long time. I found her on my own and I asked all the Aussie subs I had. What in the world's room? Why haven't you guys requested this girl? And, you know, it's up in the air. The reasons why, but now. it seems like she's getting the love she deserves. I have a whole playlist of Aussie reactions and all different other kinds of bands. Did you go to the channel page? It will be a section of playlists. Go down to the Aussie gyms. Yeah. Thank you so very much for your comments. And John is amazing And John is one of my favorite singers. And he has become one of those in the very shortest time that anyone ever has. I do a reaction where he sings with Coldplay when he first come back. In fact, we're talking about it in that video you just watched and I cry like a baby the whole time.
This is the answer to your question. en.wikipedia.org › wiki › 2000s_Australian_drought 2000s Australian drought - Wikipedia Beginning in the second half of 1991, a very severe drought occurred throughout Queensland which intensified in 1994 and 1995 to become the worst on record. [3] [4] By October 1994, part of the upper Darling River system had collapsed and the Condamine River had reverted to a series of ponds.
That sounds grim. 😮 Good of John to show his support. There was a lot of strength and compassion in this performance. It sounds like a lot of people needed that then. Still do now. Thank you for keeping us informed. 🤝
Queenslander here, and I'm guessing you are too. I remember it so well - waking up in dread to another "perfect" day - there really is such a thing as too much sunshine. I took advantage of all the subsidies offered by the Qld Govt - rainwater tank, dual flush toilets, low flow shower heads, things that we now take for granted. I remember the school slogan governing toilet etiquette: "If it's yellow let it mellow: if it's brown flush it down".
@@jenniferanderson1499 Yeah, I have never been through a drought. I am South Australian but have lived my life in Adelaide so even though it is the driest state, I have had little to do with extreme heat, except when it reaches the metropolitan area of Adelaide. Sounded awful the way you described it. All these so called disasters are government organised. They use HAARP to manipulate the weather. We have been in a massive war with these creeps for thousands of years actually and it is coming to an end. You will know more soon when disclosures come out about the globalist elite and the cabal.
I appreciate you taking the time to provide this detailed information about the 2000s Australian drought. It's great to have viewers like you who contribute valuable insights.
