It's kinda sad to see all the hate on this video. Few people know about John's story: how he was instrumental in creating one of the best hip-hop albums of all time, how he was imprisoned during the peak of his career, and how he was later pardoned by the President of the United States. I remember hearing this for the first time, shortly after John was released from prison. I loved it so much, I put it on a mix cd for all my friends to hear at the time.
This isn't about remaking the song, this is him making the song his own. I would say this is nearly as good as Kate Bush's version, no, rather nearly as good in some aspects, but better in others.
I thought that too the first time I heard it but then it grew on me and when I understood the meaning behind it and the life he had I changed my mind, now I think that it one of the best, with Irish band Ham Sandwich also doing a great cover.
Smh @ people that are complaining about the video you DO realize that the simplicity of the video is what makes i......oh wait i was just gonna explain the point of a MUSIC video to people that are here to watch videos huh?!....my fault. Carry on.
