This is not honesty - this is John protecting Tyson, planting a seed for if he loses to Usyk, or chooses to pull out/postpone. If either of those things happen, then John has already been on camera saying that things aren't right and it's not Tyson in decline..
@@ianraybon John is spot on. The current Kronk style is a stark contrast to how he fought Klitschko. To stand a chance against opponents like Usyk, he needs to regain the speed and agility he had before. The current Kronk style won't suffice against someone as skilled as Usyk
Sugar Hill was great for Deontay Wilder and all the flat-footed fighters after him. He should go back to his previous trainer and learn how to box again because he won't find Usyk in that ring.

Now that the Saudis have backed Tyson Fury into a corner and made him take him Usyk fight, John Fury is getting the excuses in. There are two possibilities for me.. Fury doesn’t turn up, or, they fight and Usyk stops him late.
big john is always honest, hes just more transparent and lengthy in interviews now because the relationship between him and tyson is not so good right now. Tyson doesnt take Johns advice and hasnt since the switch up with sugarhill as a trainer for wilder.
He's still making a lot of excuses for Tyson though. Like he's just the best boxer going. Maybe he should start admitting he's just not that great lmao
Love this man. I’m Irish and I love everything about him. He’s so much like the Irish men of his generation, like my own Father. The only person who’ll tell his son the truth. I really hope Tyson listens. I think he lost a lot of respect from fans last fight because of his arrogance. If he doesn’t listen to his Dad I don’t think he’s any chance against Usyk 😢 Come on Tyson, we absolutely love you and want you to win. You are a Legend. Listen to your Dad.❤
I think this is a plot from the Fury’s, anyone that’s followed Tysons career knows he’s a historian & cares too much not to prepare for a fight this big. They know John saying this will make headlines and Usyk will hear about it. I expect the best Tyson Fury
True this all games from the fury’s they are all at it and trying to make usyk think it will be a easy night, if Tyson wins I bet u u will see John with Tyson and it will be all good between them again this is a master plan for Theu fury’s just watch
Best Tyson has looked physically and in the ring is the Wilder 2 fight. If he can replicate that again then he beats Usyk, but if he comes out like he did in Saudi, then he’s in trouble imo.
Cant compare Wilder to Usyk, Wilder is trash and cant box. I think even if Fury came in his best shape condition ever against Usyk he'll still struggle because Usyk is a different beast. Hope Usyk does the job and becomes undisputed. He's the one truw King.
Gotta respect John for being upfront about it. He wants to see Tyson kick it up a gear and knows the Wilder style isnt going to work on Usyk. Tyson can do it but he needs a serious camp and accept this as his toughest test
I disagree, I think the only way Fury wins this fight is to go out there and stick it on Usyk straight away. This all seems a little bit like mind games.
@@MrBarry465no John is being genuine here if you listen to his words. Usyk moves too much and isn't the same fighter as Wilder, Chisora, Whyte, Ngannou. Tyson needs to incorporate more movement and awkward angles but also keep pressure high to not give Usyk time to establish a rhythm. We haven't seen much of that this last year+ with Tyson. He's got a bit complacent. Usyk and more importantly his team (as John said ) are way more in tune.
@@JamieLowe-xp1le yes because as he said in this interview he wasn't in Tyson's camp he was training Tommy. And once he saw the shape he was in on fight week he realized Tyson wasted 12 weeks of camp. But he wasn't going to say that to out loud back then and throw Tyson mental off . Essentially what should of happened is Tyson get into better strong shape for 12 weeks. Get Ngannou out early and continue a focused boxing camp for Usyk to fight him in December . Now Tyson needs to do all of that training from square one in a shorter camp against a far more tricky HW
Big up John I really commend you for saying facts game plan tactical approach for Usyk which is good But I got to say this you can't defeat a lion in its Jungle Usyk is a better boxer than Fury but fury is a clever game changer If fury goes on to box Usyk he will loose But if he trains to set him up he will win It's indeed a game of chess match
The level of disrespect he’s always shown Ben Davidson is just unreal! The man took fury from the gutter and depths of no return to a world title victory! He’s worked well with many others and now has just shown his quality again with that AJ victory. Shame he can’t give credit where it’s due.
John complains about the camp being a "circus" while he parades around with his shirt off shouting at people for no reason. Man genuinely lacks self-awareness.
If John Fury is right about the tactics that Tyson needs against Usyk, then Peter Fury would have been the ideal trainer for him. That would have been fitting.
@@Heskey1001 Tyson Fury won that bout in spite of having Peter Fury in his corner, not because of it. If Peter Fury was so good, he'd have done something since. His best achievement is having Savannah Marshall have her ears boxed off by Claressa Shields, a bout in which she seemed to be impersonating Hughie Fury.
@BertBobRobert I see what you're saying but going by your logic Virgil Hunter is hopeless because Andre Ward would have won regardless of him being in his corner
@@Heskey1001 Virgil Hunter had trained Ward from when he was nine lol. Peter Fury began training Tyson Fury when he was in his twenties and had already been calling for bouts with both Klitschko brothers. So no, it's not "going by my logic".
I have long believed that John is a big reason that Tyson manages risk with his opponent selection. His reaction to AJ having Wallin as an opponent could definitely be seen to support that idea!
John Fury… Pro Boxing Record: 8 fights - 4 losses - 1 draw. Only 1 win by way of KO. Criminal Record: Previously convicted and jailed for putting a man in a headlock and using his fingers to gouge out the man’s eye leaving the man permanently blind in one eye. General talking points: “Expert” boxing analyst who lives vicariously through his son. Constantly talks about being an honourable and honest man. Constantly lies on record/camera. Known to remove his shirt in public as a show of force. Consistently demonstrates a complete lack of self control resulting in uncontrollable fits of anger, rage and violence. Recently threatened to commit acts against a RU-vid boxer that would, “send him (John) back to jail”. But suuuuure…let’s talk about how straight talking and full of moral courage and integrity he is.
He's done a couple of these interviews now and this is starting to come across more as mind games tbh. I don't see what John would be getting out of this otherwise - I don't buy the 'oh they are getting excuses in nonsense either.
Of course it is the excuses just in case fury loses. Not even a downer would fall for this as a mind game... imagine usyk thinking "oh im going into the biggest fight of my life but the opponents dosser dad said he isn't training... i guess I can take him lightly!"
It’s damage control. Everyone is criticising the performance against Ngannou so what do you do? You tell them he wasn’t focused & that this is not Tyson at his best but could be better despite Tyson saying to everyone he’s had the best camp, not overlooking Ngannou, focused & even had more time for camp.
Gotta respect Johns honesty here. And rightly so, where was the trainer, strength and conditioning coach and nutritionist. Tyson really couldn’t have done much in that previous camp. Hopefully he’s had a wake up call because it embarrassed people.
John Fury and "honesty don't belong in the same sentence... Convincing every mug who's gullible he named his son Tyson when it's been proven he named him Luke! Absolute melt 🤣🤦♂️
@@egikskallagrimsson5703 not nornslly no, I can’t stand John fury but this is the first time he’s speaking facts. And anyone who knows anything about boxing knows Tyson is his middle name I don’t know if you want a medal for knowing that or what you’re trying to get at ?
Although, Tyson is a bit younger than Usyk, he is aging much faster due to his life style and due to the facts that he is not as dedicated as Usyk. His father realised somthing was going wrong in his last fight and he tries to blame his team. Usyk is much better boxer and his pendulum, side steps, turning angles and timing will make Tyson suffer big time. Tyson never fought anyone like him. Those who know boxing might agree that size doesn't matter when you face such a beast. Excuses start from now in case Tyson loses.
Absolutely spot on 100%. The Fury’s completely changed their tune about Usyk once the fight got signed. No man born from his mother can beat Tyson Fury. Those have been his words for as long as I can remember. Let him keep that same energy.
@@alvshillI don’t know why but I hate hearing him say that, I guess he does for confidence and intimidation but there’s not a person on earth that can’t be beaten. And Usyk might have his number, we will see when it actually happens. I think Usyk has more skills and if Fury shows up like he did in his last fight Usyk will win.
For the first time in all my time of listening to this man he is talking like a real man of the sport , a lot of sense spoken here and he is right about Tyson not looking like a fighter who puts in the time needed , Well spoken John and its the only thumbs up i have ever given you ..
John is talking sense here. You look at Fury when he's in shape.. vs Klitchko that's what he looks like when he's living the life and putting the work in. Vs Wilder two, he still had some way to go but he looked STRONG, it's a shame he didn't kick on from there. You can't just switch it on and off in boxing not when you get to 35 onwards, its a short career, live the life put it the work so you dont end up getting schooled by someone you would've beaten at 100%
@@brandonross1996 I agree. When you see Fury trying to get in his opponent's heads he knows he is in for a tough fight, his mind games are not working at all with Usyk, they did with Wilder..
He is right, if you look at Tyson in the wilder 2 & 3 fight you can see the size of his shoulders, veiny and solid, when he hasn't been training hard enough it shows. Have a look people it shows in his shoulders when he has trained hard enough.
Good interview that, great knowledgeable questions and put together well. Fair play John, spoke well and showed his knowledge too. He's right close fights and agree with all his predictions although close.
Excuses in early, none of the Furys wanted this Usyk fight, it was the pressure from fans and the insane money from Saudi’s thats FORCED their hand! Usyk beats him by a fair few rounds too
I think you are wrong, don't write Fury off just yet. John stating that Tyson's camp is a circus with the wrong people, smacks of mind games to me. I think Tyson will be lean and mean, he lost over 200lbs and beat Wilder the undefeated world champion though called a draw. Usyk will be knocked out in the later rounds imo.
Everything he says is spot on here. When he's talking boxing John knows the sport and calls a spade a spade. This fight should be straightforward if Tyson is preparing properly. But if he's half arsing it in camp then it could be a mess.
What a great man John is! Being completetly truthful about Tyson & Camp in a way without disrespecting him! Plus speaking true factual words about other situations! Yes he acts outrageous at events but its purely defending & for the love of sons! What a guy!
Speaking true factual words about other situations like his dead wrong predictions on joshua vs wallin, wilder VS dubois AND miller vs dubois? fanboi...xD
To understand Usyk you must watch Sugar Ray Leonard especially against Lalonde If Fury doesn’t spot who Usyk copied as yet he will get beat The blueprint for Fury will be Sugar Ray V Lalonde
John Fury's predictions for 'Day of Reckoning' outcome equals 0 out of 3 predictions. Although i do agree with his assesment of Tyson's close run against Ngannou.
