Gorgeous but I don't remember ever hearing about either of them back them. I hear about them much more now. Ppl think they were as famous as Tyra, Claudia, Naomi, Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss, or Iman, and they really weren't famous until later on. Supermodels did runway, catalog, commercials, designer campaigns, magazine spreads, Victoria Secret, and usually had small movie/tv roles and and starred in music videos. Supermodels did it all in the fashion and entertainment industry. That's where they got the name "Super" model. Shalom and Yasmeen were models, but not household names like supermodels were. Now, they must have very good publicists to make the most of it.

Back then, they were more than models. They were muses for the pre-social media world. Many wars were prevented for certain countries' art/fashion industry... It's hard to destroy something so beautiful, regardless of race or ethnicity.
it was the general hair theme of the show. 80% of the models were in that wig, shalom and like 3 others were the outliers. that is how some wigs looked in ancient times.
Shalom is a classic ethereal beauty and of course Yasmeen killed that Cleopatra look. I wished they would talk about this Iconic moment more. They definitely knew what it took and how to be Super Models. We will never get Models like this no more.

Cleopatra sure as FK WAS NOT BLACK ! Greeks are NOT BLACK nor were they ever! The Greeks CLAIM CLEOPATRA was White bc Greeks are WHITE . Do some Greeks look similar to Yasmeen.... yesssss ! Although Yasmeen is Pakistani, she looks Universal as some Mediterranean people do like Italians/ Greeks . My husband is Italian, and some of his family in San Vittorino, Italy, are darker in skintone than Yasmeen.
