It's definitely not "just a garage bar". There is way more to it than that and the emotion that this man feels as a result of how it affects his life and the lives of his friends and family is apparent. Well done. Cool series.
Oh and one more thing, it’s not just a “garage bar”. Living in England I can tell you that’s better than 90% of English pubs 👍🏻. When an English man tells you it’s a good bar/pub you can rest assure it is, 👌🏻
This guy's garage bar is amongst the best I've seen, because you can tell, this project was YEARS in the making, and he basically built a classic Irish Pub in this space.
Hey John- Man I can't remember the last time we saw each other. This popped up on me, and son, it is AWESOME. Im a huge Garage guy, and have always limited mine to kitchens, grilling and toys... After seeing this, game on man. IM IN! Hope all is well.
OMG Mike!! So great to hear from you! 10th grade is likely the last time I saw you. I am so happy you saw this. If you transform your garage, let me know. I'd love to help with some ideas. Get in touch! and then I will have to visit. Are you still in the Rochester area?
What better way to show love then to open your doors and invite loved ones in to share your space. I’d like to do something similar with mine, bar/cigar lounge.
This is exactly what Pub means and is, a place for locals and usually home brewed beer, this is how pubs started back in the day in England. Perfecto, kudos to you 👍
Wonderfully done video of a great Garage Bar and a great guy! I've had the pleasure of hanging out in the original 'Garbar' and it's awesome. It's the inspiration for my garage bar, 'Smitty's Tavern' and it's been amazing having my own space like this to hang with family and friends. Now all I need are some amazing Garage Door openers like that!
Wow, I just saw a GarBar Nation video for the first time a few minutes ago. I cannot believe my luck that this video came out yesterday. Great story and very well done video. I have inspiration for my first retirement project. 👍
Very well done! I think this captures how many of us feel about our little garage bars, or in my case, barn bar. I'm still amazed at how much fun and how many memories this little bar I made has brought into our lives here in such a short time. I have the same garage door opener, too! Love it!
Awesome man. I believe, that you don’t charge for drinks and it’s not open to the public, no liquor licenses required. It’s private property. But you can be cited for over-serving someone if they drive. Wonderful space. Nice job. I like the indoor outdoor space relationship. Need one of these for myself. Cheers.
Wow that is nothing short of pure Genius, and as a tradesman myself......the attention to detail and craftsmanship is awesome, well done my friend 👍🏻🏴
We don't anything like this but we do have a few wonderful gazebos in our hood with firepuits that are big hang outs. builds amazing community and getting to know your neighbours.
Hello my name is Kenneth. J, this is the first time I see your video of your garage/bar Awesome place you have love it, Thanks for the idea, as soon as I get my first home this is what I'm going to make for my family and friends to share time love and happiness. 😊 Best wishes to you and your family and God bless 🙏 and don't stop sharing your ideas.
Garabarino- so Italian, but the place is hung with Irish flags. lol. Don’t get me wrong, my mom came from the South Side of Chicago and all the neighborhoods were distinct, but they all overlapped constantly, including the Jewish neighborhoods. It never dawned on me that my Irish Catholic South Side mom sprinkled her every day language with Yiddish, it just was what it was. You don’t question the things your mom says. But she spent so much time in the Jewish part of the South Side, my grandmother loved their pumpernickel rye, and the bakery owners thought my mom was funny and cute so they fed her black and white cookies and hamentaschen, and she absorbed so much Yiddish. So my mom spent a lot of time in the other “neighborhoods” in the south side and we benefited as a result. We grew up in Arizona where there are no such things as ethnic neighborhoods unless you are talking about barriós. But our mom had absorbed so many things from the people she loved and who had formed her childhood that we had all kinds of Italian, German, Polish and Yiddish bits and pieces in our everyday lives that it made it super easy when we went into law or medicine or corporate management. That’s one of the things I love about our country that makes it so unique in the history of the world. We bring our traditions, food, language, enthusiastically with us when we first get here and because we also love our homeland, our freedoms, our ability to pursue happiness, we bring all that we are to this country and it becomes transformed into something uniquely American. We’re more fortunate than any civilization that has ever existed. We can draw on the traditions, the richness, the depth of the entire world because everyone in the world has become an American.
Been wanting to convert my spare garage into an Irish bar for years. these videos are amazing and inspiring.please continue to post. Maybe when I’m done you can come hang out in Phoenix at the Finbar
Everything affects everybody differently but I certainly never shed any tears over that covid situation as we refused to let it affect our lives. Luckily, my elderly parents never took ill, so blessed in that way, but there was no way we were going to let any government restrictions really interfere with our daily lives.
What type of fireplace is that? And is there any fear of an open flame in the garage? I’m looking for a heat source so I can enjoy my garage bar in the northeast wintertime and this looks like it really brings it together
