Um tetra campeão mundial é... um tetra campeão mundial. Não é um jogador bom, ou muito bom, não, é um tetra campeão mundial. 🇧🇷 🇧🇷 🇧🇷 🇧🇷 Primeiro do mundo, lenda ........ Ronnie O'Sullivan Segundo ................................... John Higgins Terceiro .................................... Stephen Henry Quarto ...................................... Also, its an absolute pleasure to see Mark Allen playing so well especially after his transformation. He was calm and full of grace even after the defeat.
My father doesn't watch that much snooker however when he saw that this was going to a decider he went to sat down with me on a living room in the couch and I was able to go through the emotions with my older man... Lovely moment I had there with him
This was the most incredible astonishing break I have ever watched live… I could feel my heart beating through the whole time and can hardly breathe even during the color clearance… Higgins is my favorite player ever and I am so proud of being his fan…
Rightfully so. Higgins is by no means my favourite but maximum respect for an outstanding performance. He was unbelievable under immense pressure and with a never say die attitude. Nobody else could have done it.
Dennis Taylor & Stephen Hendry were immensely phenomenal in these pressure moments. The commentary was excellent. Hendry is the best commentator for moments like this! The way he reads the game and understands the weight of pressure in moments like this is class…it’s no wonder why he was such a relentless winner. Enjoyed him and Dennis Taylor tonight
@@alanchamberlain9902for some reason I can’t stand Eurosport…from the commentary to the studios stuff with that host Radzo who gets on my nerves. BBC is top quality for me
So happy for Higgins. He's had some tough defeats and at times looked like he wasn't capable of this pressure anymore. Reeling back the years. Best clearance I've ever seen live.
Delighted for John Higgins making this epic clearance, retaining his Top 16 spot ...& into another Crucible QF (his 18th !). My late mum was a big fan - she lived in Hamilton quite close to the Higgins family & on occasion would see John & Denise & their kids in the local supermarket or restaurant, Friendly, down to earth, unassuming...just as he appears on TV.
Absolutely wonderful. Hasn't managed to do this in a while, but in his peak he was always doing it. The double was pure guts and that final red was majestic. He should be very proud of himself this evening.
This match will go down in the annals. Words like classic and great are bandied around far too much but this was absolutely captivating. Allen was looking bang on it in that last frame too but just over cuts the red. I’ve been watching snooker since the 80s. I’ve never seen a more remarkable counter clearance to win a deciding frame. My admiration for Higgins has gone through the roof. What a warrior.
If you've been watching since the 80s then you should know there's been plenty of times where Higgins has done this before. The most memorable was the 06 masters in the decider vs Ronnie
Now that is sports charm at its finest, sometimes is not all about winning titles but to create moments like this that will be remembered by millions of fans world wide. Thanks both players and Taylor/Hendry's classic commentary.
This is the reason I have always been a John Higgins fan! The man has nerves of steal and its the 1 thing you cant argue, hes better at handling the pressure under the most extreme circumstances, than any other player! When it really mattered he played the best frame of the whole match. An absolute Legend
Literal full body goosebumps as that black went in! I've been watching snooker avidly since 1987 and those 2 reds he potted, given the pressure of both the match and his ranking position, are 2 of the best shots I've ever seen in 1 frame... Form is temporary, class is permanent... and that class, is The Class of '92!! ❤
Even by John's standards, that's an outrageous clearance. The double to start it off, the last red near the top cushion, not to mention all the permutations that if he'd lost he was out the top 16. That's up there with the one he made to win the Masters against O'Sullivan in 2006, arguably even better given the circumstances.
I remember some years ago in a Master final vs Ronnie, John also started from do or die difficult red to steal the frame and clinch the champion. What a class.
Tremendous red under pressure! John is probably the best doubler I've seen. He's potted so many great doubles over the years which is why he backed himself.
One of the greatest breaks ever in snooker history under the circumstances. A level of pressure we would never understand. You can actually see John trembling at 7:23. The Class of 92' is stronger than ever!!!
No choice but to play the double, there was no safety option available to him. To play it though and make it, to then clear up was special, as the pressure became immense. Unlucky Mark, sometimes you just have to applaud the opponent, as you gracefully did, great match by both, come on the John you know you can win this again. Do it!
Had a bet on Allen to win the tournament this year but couldn’t be happier to see John win like this last night, after all his struggles lately and near misses. Rooting for him to go even further now! What a class act.
His Masters 2006 decider clearence, his 2018 clearence against williams when williams was 17-15 and 62 points up and just need a pink, until he missed it.
What a clearance in the final frame. Considering Maguire and Bingham are in the QF of this tournament as well, increased pressure and difficulty in keeping himself in the top 16 pushed him to give all his best in thus match. Really a top class player!
This is for the ages... Snooker never needed such an epic break of sheer brilliance more! John stays in the Top 16, and what it means to play at the World Championship at the Crucible... Brilliant from both players tonight. And well done John. 🙏👏
@@davidmellish3295 The Saudis are intending to bid for the Snooker World Championship when the Crucible's contract runs out. Due to their limitless spending power they seem intent on ruining every sport invented in the West, and it's all thanks to their good fortune of Westeners discovering and extracting oil from underneath their feet.
@mbucd nah that will never happen, will it ? It's the home of the wc,I saw interviews with Barry before where he said the crucible was the home of the wc. That's why I asked the question. Has Barry Hearn actually come out and said it's moving ?
@@davidmellish3295 Can't remember who it was, but someone interviewed on the radio a few weeks ago said that the Saudis are planning to wave their money around and take the World Championships over there when the Crucible contract runs out.
One of the most remarkable frames of snooker, for all money it looked like Allen had it in the bag, Higgins then pulls of one of the best pressure clearances of all time. Absolutely fantastic
Great point! Just watched it again. It was an almost identical double Steve Davis played to knock John Higgins out of the Worlds in 2010. You couldn’t make it up.
I believe it, I just watched it! -- the Higgins of 5 yrs ago was capable of such feats regularly -- but his recent form has not been nearly as good, to the point where, if there was a must win frame, today I would not necessarily pick him as the guy to do it, as I would have 5 yrs ago -- sympathy for Mark Allen, who makes that red with the rest 9 of 10 times
John higgins is the best player to play doubles. Mark Selby is a close second, but this guy tops the lot. Under pressure aswell. Hats off to him an incredible clearance 👏
Great to see Higgins rolling back the years, without a shadow of a doubt the most dangerous player in the history of snooker, coming to the table 60 odd points down, and then clearing up so nonchalantly. The double for the red was outstanding, but the red along the bottom rail!!!!!! WOW.
When I saw the situation with the double. A large part of me was thinking, don't get into a long safety battle that you're odds on to lose being so far behind. The double was proper all eggs in one basket stuff, but worth the risk with the prize being a chance to win the match. The last red was phenomenal as was the rest of the break. Best match and best break of the tournament so far. Bring on the quarter finals and the weekend. Great stuff 😀😀😀😀😀
With his reputation for being the doubles king and it being the only shot on a red left, Im sure it was an easier shot than that last red played at pace so close to the edge, and with very little pocket to work with. Balls of steel , and he still has it in him, so hope he goes further as that would give him loads of confidence.
Stephen Hendry , Ronnie O'Sullivan , Steve Davis , all of them said that Higgins is the best Doubler in the world on multiple occasions , and he just made it sound so accurate this time..
Mark Allen is a class act there. Shows his appreciation to the crowd and apparently said very kind words to Higgins after such a devastating loss. Fair play to him 👏🏻
