O que mais me assustou foi o 9.93. Medina tinha acabado de fazer um 10 espetacular. Era só comparar e ver como a onda do Gabriel tinha sido muito superior. Os caras deram quase a mesma nota. Vergonhoso.

Gab can compete with John in the air, but not on rail, sorry, like A.I., other guys can’t do those turns like him. Also, is not just the length and size of the barrel, you got take off, criticalness, style etc. To say JJF was handed his title with the way he surfed that entire year LOL
Ppl saying the 9.73 was overscored....not sure if ppl understand how hard it is to pull in basically when the wave is already breaking...damn near impossible. he intentionally knew he had to do it due to the degree of difficulty to it. Side note I do think Medina 9.1 wave the one after the ten was underscored at least 9.4
It's really tricky to rate barrels, with better positioning and paddling you won't be forced into more critical takeoffs. So which do you reward more. Medina's previous barrel was definitely deeper and longer. Also forehand and backhand drops are so different (most people say you can make more critical drops backhand). If you look at Medina in barreling waves he gets on great waves but very very rarely gets forced to do critical takeoffs (although he still lands them when forced into them).
I really like JJF, but come on everyone All the respect to Medina in the last 5 years, always on top. WSL needs to stop manipulation scores and let the best win.
@@WaveFlightSimulations of course I think he is a really good athlete and only 26 years old. But just bc hes a 2 time world champ doesn't mean he should be a asshole. I think he gives respect at the end. But I mean c'mon dropping in on Kelly where he could of got a 10 point ride JUST to win is a douchy thing to do.
Medina is the best surfer out there at the moment. Saw him in Pipe and could believe how he got to the finals in 2019. Hopefully this new CEO can change the mentality has held him with only 2 titles.
Essa bateria foi uma vergonha para wsl. É absurda a desproporção que vocês tratam os atletas brasileiro. Só assisto pelo amor ao Sport, porque a WSL não vale nada.
