John John, Medina, Steph & Co Free-Surf At Keramas - 11 May 2019

Some CT big guns made an appearance at Keramas yesterday and the early morning conditions were silky smooth before a brisk Northerly wind kicked up, making for some bumpy faces to deal with. Being the best in the business, they still managed to put on a show for the peanut gallery.
And there weren’t too many onlookers, but all these guys and gals are hot social media fodder for surf fans. Particularly for Gabriel Medina and John John Florence, the walk from shore-break to shower is anything but a straight line.

SoB, this pre contest Keramas chapter pushes you over a threshold into a pretty elite league. The 20K is no surprise, expecting it to keep growing quite a bit more. Was talking to an old Bali hand about you yesterday and he was saying that when you first came on the scene he fully expected that you would get a bit of a following and then start flogging hats and yoga retreats. He was actually very pleasantly surprised by how you have developed and grown this whole thing into a real class act.

Thanks a lot. I'm happy with how I've improved since I started but know I've got plenty of things to get better at and new things to try out, but that's what makes the whole process interesting. The hats and yoga retreats aren't out of the question 🙂, but you won't be seeing anything like that in the videos.

@@surfersofbali Hey, you need to finance an operation like this, it ain't cheap both in terms of time and money invested. I don't think anyone would begrudge you 'going professional' so to speak. And I have complete confidence you won't be turning the back quarter of any video into a pandering rant to flog some lifestyle product, (not mentioning names).
