Apparently Eric Bauza did Homer and Abe on this short (John K is Marge here i think, Not sure about Bart and Lisa), if that's true there's two fact confirmed. John K said the true in one interview about it (It's in this channel) and Bauza can do more voices than we thought he can do.
I thought this is fine. I don’t know why its deleted, though a possible reason could be the Simpsons animators finding out the open secret, which we’ve learned about in 2018.

I know couch gags are allowed to bend the rules a little, but John K's overplayed tropes always trump the originality of the characters he's supposed to be depicting. Grandpa being hyper religious is just a total misunderstanding of his character and seems misplaced and uncanny rather than funny.
