Money clearly isnt the issue for Conor, the issue is that he has two fights left on his contract and he wants to fight them out so he can go box, the ufc don't want him to fight out his contract.

Terrible training and gameplans against Dustin in the rematch and the trilogy, which ended up ruining Conor's career and his comeback might also end up being a disaster because of this, which I hope isn't the case. The calf kick being a very big deal during covid times and yet Conor's team had no clue about it and didn't even prepare for it along with going for a jumping guillotine on Dustin in the trilogy when he should have gone for a standing guillotine and thrown overhand left punches to block Dustin's check hooks instead of straight left punches, no ice on his calf and he stood between the round in the rematch, which was all advised by John in the worse way and etc. Conor's team has been terrible with the worst sparring partners and average coaches, which makes his journey more impressive. There's nobody else at his gym doing great...

But appreciate as well that the business model with US PPV revenue licensed for a flat fee the benefit of getting Conor done short term doesn’t really exist for the UFC. His value is all long term now to negotiate for a higher licensing fee and/or sharing in some way for higher selling shows or possibly just for a substantially lower share in exchange for a licensing fee that doesn’t guarantee the buys revenue as their deal has existed to now. It’s not like the fee for Conor becomes lower for the company when they don’t share in the upside any longer so outside of landing an increased licensing deal and the spiked gate revenue the business benefit to Conor for the UFC end isn’t what it previously was. That’s just common sense really. And what has Conor asked for and not gotten? Two days after this video aired he was speaking with Ariel that they’d ageeed to his next fight and there hadn’t been any talks about needing to extend at all. If Conor truly wanted things to be way earlier he could’ve taken steps for that but he didn’t make those calls

Henderson was 46 at the time and bisping was 37. That's not the same as a 27 year old jake vs a 58 year old Tyson. Dan vs Henderson is more like Jake vs Anderson Silva - and even then Jake still had a way bigger age gap, but that's fine no one had a problem with that fight. He's been tested multiple times in 2024, with some reports saying he's been tested the most. 2 fights left on his contract, this is me speculating here, but I think he wants to run down his contract and become a free agent. So he can explore offers elsewhere, like Saudi, with their boxing.
