"We had chances coming down the stretch but Cork were incredible. Congrats to Cork, we wish them and Clare the best in the final" - John Kiely reacts as Limerick are defeated in Croke Park. #SportLK | @LimerickCLG GAA with Noel's Menswear
Thanks John and management, your panel of players have given so much excitement ,joy, a new level of hurling, ye owe nothing to yer county, Thanks for the entertainment, good health, happiness to ye all. Clare fan,
Some silly comments on here🤫. Man shows his class in fairness, no finger pointing, no whingeing, humble in victory, gracious in defeat. Galway supporter here, well done to Cork.
As a dub I can only admire this limerick hurling team, well done Cork you fellas played you’er hearts out and got over the line and good luck to both remaining teams in the final.
If limerick weren't 🏆 wining all Irelands I would love to see Waterford win a all Ireland. I stayed in Piltown Killkenny in 99 to 2002 doing a Horticultural course in Kildalton College. We went into Waterford city on the odd Thursday night into the pubs.😊
Also, the Limerick players and all involved can be immensely proud of what they've achieved so far over the last few years. They really have set the new standard in all areas. 5 times All Ireland champions in 6 years, phenomenal, and 6 in a row Munster Championships... that's just ludicrous given the competition and talent in the Munster Championship. The only team to have ever done that in history. This one got away, was as close as you like, could have won, will hurt obviously, but even if they never won another match they've already immortalised themselves as one of hurlings GOATS. 🐐🙏
Don't let it be the end John, it was an honour to watch you and your team the past few years. Your respect and genuine gentleman aura you bring to hurling is breathe of fresh air. Of course I am delighted with the win, but it's still sad to see such a dominate team just fall short of the 5 in a row.
It is ...was at the Kerry five in a row defeat against Offaly and remember well that goal and a missed penalty ...I fancied Cork to win rare thing are improbable !
29 points would win most matches so credit Cork for bettering that score in semifinal against one of the most dogged, ferocious, talented never say die teams of all time. Both teams were worthy winners.
As a nuetral( KK) what a great game...testement to the Limerick team and supporters that is no gloating or ill feeling from other counties after today, only respect. Fair play to Cork though great match.....Jaysus we will have to put up with those hoors for a couple of years now..😂😂
Hats off to Limerick their acceptance of defeat was as honourable as their graciousness as Champions for the past 4 years. I was a little surprised that their sideline did not make the changes that were glaringly obvious at half time but it shows once again it is hard to move away from the tried and trusted. From a Cork perspective the one great feeling I have from today's mighty win was that I will get to see that great servant of Cork hurling the one and only Pat Horgan hopefully win the All Ireland medal he richly deserves. Rebels Abu. Ray Hennessy Bantry
Proper sportsmanship from a clearly old school Cork supporter, pity there was a large element of of idiot Cork "fans" who let their county jersey down with their carry on throughout the day.
Limerick have been a great team over the last few years but to be mentioned in the same breath as Brian Cody's legends they will have to come back and win the next two All Irelands now.
I have being going to limerick matches since the 90s. The last number of years have being the greatest 😊. Even last Sunday when they were down 7 points. They never gave up and brought it down to 2 points in the last few minutes of the match. They should bring out a dvd 📀 of the 4 full finals of the 4 in a row. I have them recorded on a USB box but they dont always work. They might not be there forever on u tube.😊
From a kilkenny mam brilliant game of hurling was a joy to watch if the gaa doesn't get their finger out and sort themselves out we will loose a lot of young hurlers coming up
If that was his last match as manager, thanks John. He has nothing more to prove, and I don't see him as a Cody like figure, continuing to build teams. Someone else will have big boots to fill if he does go.
@@fonz114 yeah hope so. The immediate disappointment will fade, and when they see Cork or Clare celebrating it'll either put fire in the bellies for next year or not. It should do, the team isn't past it yet. JK will certainly think about things over the next while.
What a wonderful team limerick these lads gave their very best n we are honoured to have seen them playing their type of game completely team play no glory hunters thanks a million each n everyone n to John Kiely what an achievement over the years looking forward to seeing you all in fighting form next year up limerick
Great game yesterday and Saturday both losers could have should have won but there has to be a loser, Limerick without a doubt one of the greatest teams ever and it goes to show you how extremely difficult it actually is to win 5 All Irelands in a row, Kilkenny are still the top team of their era 8 All Ireland final wins in 10 years Limerick have 5 All Ireland wins in 7 year years so they will need to win the next 3 All Irelands to match that similarly brilliant Kilkenny team but it is possible but it will be very difficult to do, still thank god we have the game of Hurling which by far is the best field game to watch ever.
That Kilkenny team wasn't in the same league as this Limerick team. They were too dependent on placing brown envelopes in the hands of grateful referees. Witness the 2009 final for example.
Kk team were superb but the only opposition for the 4 years was Tipp as Cork were on the decline. Beat 2 very poor teams in Waterford and Limerick at the time in 07 and 08. This Limerick team are ahead of them, fought tooth and nail over and over again and had Savage tests in Munster
Great Limerick team but they've spent too much time in the gym. They've substituted strength for speed and Cork were faster than them all over the pitch. Someone like Tom Morrisey looks more like a full back than a wing forward. Also Limerick didn't use Gillane properly. Put the ball in front of him and he's deadly when he's on form as he was yesterday.
Look Limerick will be back guns blazing cork were better I like to see cork win the all Ireland this year it's 19 years the last time they won a all Ireland from a Kilkenny man
Limerick probably played as bad as they'd ever play. And they still could easily have beaten a cork team who, bar Horgan, had a dream day. Just goes to show how great this Limerick team is and I'm sure they'll be favourites again next year
Are u having a laugh 🤣🤣 if not for the ref cork would have won by more . Clear hand passed been called as throws while clear throws for Limerick been given as handpasses. A perfect goal for cork not given . Twice beaten by cork this year . Limerick showing alot more class than their fans
What a joke of a comment. First half in the round robin against waterford limerick hit about 20 wides. Limerick were just beaten by the better team on the day
Cork did their homework....they weren't given the pace and time they were used to....Fair play to the Rebels, my heart is with Clare though....although, I won't begrudge either side....
@@johnrohan398 I feel sorry for you, your full of hate, pity you can't feel the enjoyment I'm a Clare supporter , and we have watched limerick and learned, Hope we can go all the way now .
Jesus after winning 4 titles in a row and being the best team by a country mile for the last couple of year's , they earned the right to be cocky but its not something I seen today Delighted Cork got the win today, we fully deserved it but by God you never have this Limerick team beaten, they are some outfit
@@johnpaulmcsweeney4480Lad they weren't even better than us last season FFS. Scraped though Munster at our expense thanks a helping hand form the cough cough... ref This was coming from the boys. Hon the Rebels 🔴⚪
13 titles in 7 years, think now Limerick deserve respect and not childish comments. Best of luck to Cork and clare in the final. The Treaty will be back.
Ya gglaringly obvious at half time that we needed bit of different approach shane and adam should have been brought on earlier will Donohue hagarty and Flanagan had run out juice
from a Cork guy who was in Hill 16 holy F*** that game was Fever Pitch it was that intense the F****** roar from Hill 16 every time Cork scored was incredible the noise shook hill 16 then fulltime whistle blows after all by the frank and the walters is blasting on the speaks thousands of cork people are singing in the Hill will never ever forget this day
Very hard on Declan Hannon. It was a slip of the tongue. Declan and some of limericks former players are some of the friendest people you could meet around limerick.😊
