It's like Viggo was singing a song of lament for the men that he KNEW were going to die.

"You uh... working again?" Brilliant line. Both humerous and gives the audience a glimpse into the type of world John Wick operates in.

Keep in mind, this is John being rusty.

I firmly believe the Jimmy is on the High Table's bank roll. When he takes off his hat, he is saying to John, "I'm not a cop right now." John knows this and he tells him he isn't back in the game. Love this scene.

The simple fact that the Police know John and John knows the Police by name says a lot about John . Adding that the Police are letting this go says even more about John.

Jimmy is like “I don’t get paid enough to dig my nose in this.” Jimmy’s a smart man

Cop knows John well, his thinking "This guy just took down a bunch of intruders single handedly, I'm not dealing with the paperwork. Time to just say goodnight and get back to my patrol.."

I think Jimmy is a fellow assassin, and moonlights as a police officer. I think that's why they have such casual conversation. It makes sense because Jimmy is aware that John isn't "working" anymore.

I just realized after Jimmy sees the bodies he takes his hat to and appears to cover his body cam. Does anyone else think the same? Either way Jimmy knows the value of a friend like John.

the way the they word things, I think Jimmy and the other guy, Fancis, use to or still do 'work' and have run into or worked with John in the past. so with Jimmy's 'you working again?' line, he knows what john did and does not want to get into that kind of mess, because they both have professional courtesy and respect what each other do. that or they are really good friends with john and want to keep it that way, XD.

Lots of possibilities. Then again, maybe picking one would spoil the mystery.

None of the sequels top the original. This movie had stellar action but spaced between world building and exposition. The sequels were just non-stop action which, while good, became desensitizing as each installment went on. Quality over Quantity.

I've watched this scene many times over the years and I have to say now it seems to be a metaphor for how the Russians roll in Ukraine. They have the man-power but not the smarts... all tactical no strategy. The footsoldiers expendable. I'm guessing that some of the participants in the "noise complaint" were fresh out of Russian prisons and sent to the "front". Well, it's the Russian way -- apparently. If you don't believe me then look at some IceSpeak vids from before the war... the Russians are a unique lot -- communist fer sure -- brutal fer sure -- terrible on the actual battlefield well Bahkmut.
