The goal of making a film adaptation isn't to follow the source material entirely. It's about effectively translating the story to another medium, even if it means changing or cutting a bunch of shit.
@@GriffithMustDie Cutting/changing things for the movie is usually about time constraints. The original ending didn't need to change and would have made the movie better, although no Rambo franchise.
@@southeastasiandna7578 This was a terrible accident I agree. Landis went through many years of a trial. If they found him culpable they would have locked him up
@@youraveragepasser-by7367 The trial might have lasted a year but the whole thing lasted a decade. There is a lot that goes on pre trial post trial. At the end of the day it was a terrible accident.
@@chiefscheider If you believe that I've got some timeshares for you. Landis illegally hired children and had the helicopter flying dangerously low AFTER the pilot said the rotors were at risk.
Landis didn't hire the children, Frank Marshall did. That came out in the trial. As for the helicopter flying too low, the pilot should have refused. Stop blaming one guy when four others made poor decisions too.
@@chiefscheider Landis was responsible for everything that happened on set since he WAS the director of this segment. He lied to the kids' parents that explosions won't be involved on set, and ignored safety concerns from the cast and crew that the stunt involved was dangerous (witnesses said that he was once quoted saying "Well, we might lose a chopper!). He shrugged it off like he didn't care. In doing so, he recklessly created an unsafe environment in which three people needlessly lost their lives.
