What a great classic album from a great classic Blues icon! Anyone catch at 13:40 and then again at 19:35 what he had to say about Elvis Presley in the song Tupelo? Muhammad Ali, James Brown, BB King, Little Richard.... many others from that era spoke of Elvis the same way. I see an awful lot of modern folks out there that think they're woke on this history talk an awful lot of s**t about Elvis Presley. They wouldn't have talked that BS that I often see if they were in front of Johnny Lee... nor they were in front of any of the others I mentioned. Nice to hear Johnny Lee make give that genuine sincere tribute to a another icon that gets a little too much disrespect sometimes from some ignorant folks in this modern era. Rest in peace to Johnny Lee Hooker.... as well as to all the others greats that have gone on
@Dallas D It is you who is uneducated if you do not hear and see the disrespect all over youtube! It is total BS as @Soul Man states and would never have come from the great John Lee Hooker and the others mentioned who were friends of Elvis. A lot of the younger generations should do some proper research of true facts before spreading hate and lies from untrue rumors and ignorance!
One of the best blues albums in the history of blues. Not only is JL in fine form here, but the other guitarist, by the name of Garcia, is just outstanding. You don’t need blues guitar lessons. Just listen to this album.
