Still listening, but I describe it as O’Sullivan’s First Law Applied to the Christian Life: "All people searching for God and Christian truth who are not fervently committed to the core tenets of the historic Christian faith will over time deny the historic Christian faith."
This is my first exposure to your channel and I'm very impressed. I truly appreciate young brothers like yourself who are standing firm for the gospel of Jesus Christ. Well done, young man.
I believe that’s what happened to Alistair Beck he is influenced by the gospel coalition, which is heartbreaking because he knows better😢 prayers for him
I agree with you whole heartedly. I'm so weary of seeing men fall to social pressures for popularity's sake. Either you believe God's Word is THE authority or you don't. If they say they believe that, then why stop believing it. I pray that you stand strong and don't budge an inch!
@@dianetigert1310 If you're replying to my comment, I'm not sure what your reply has to do with my comment. But I'll answer your questions anyway. Which "congregation" the disciples belonged to is irrelevant. The NT Scriptures did not exist yet, they had only the OT Scriptures and Jesus Himself. Based on the real presence of Jesus they learned that He was the fulfillment of the OT prophecies. If by "congregation" you mean "denomination", at the beginning of the church there was only one "congregation". That "congregation" met not only on Sunday but sometimes they met in each other's houses during the week. The unsaved Jews would not have allowed the Christians to meet in a synagogue. As the newly saved Jews went back to their hometowns after Pentecost, they developed their own "congregations". I hope this helps.
The church I went to had (and still has) a very prominent pastor as one of the leaders in TGC. This church became very woke in their dealings with total compliance during the pandemic (unlike the way you Mr MacArthur dealt with it) and since then they have succumbed to more government directives which do not belong in a church. I have since left that church and I therefore agree that TGC has weakened. John Piper I would include in these comments BTW.
Greetings from; Nuevo Leon Mexico. Here is another voice standing for the thruth! It is realy sad seing people who once was on fire for the Word of God and suddenly swiching to the wrong side! Galatians 1:6-10, 3:1, 2 peter 2: 1-2. Keep up the good work, Bill!!
I went straight to the TGC23 conference right after the G323 conference specifically to critique the key note speakers and the seminar speakers and to see what books TGC was promoting. I was very guarded at TGC. While I was somewhat "ok" at TGC, it was night and day difference between the two. I won't be going to another TGC conference.
Just stumbled on this. Glad I did. God is the same yesterday, today, forever. May God be true and every man a liar. No they shouldn’t change the Chicago Statement defending Biblical inerrancy. The same lies in the garden are being repackaged and regurgitated today like never before! Wow.
What is very troubling is the "Theologian at Large" for the Gospel Coalition was a signer of the Chicago Statement for Biblical Inerrancy: D. A. Carson. I just do not understand how Dr. Carson could fight against the emerging Church and the New Perspective of Paul, defend inerrancy, and not care about the leftist leaning of The Gospel Coalition.
I went to TGC webpage once. After the article I read on being good Bereans, I never trusted them as a biblical resource. The author said the Bible hadn’t been written yet so they could t have compared Paul’s teaching to scripture.
@ Bill Roach: Russell Moore was an ardent political Democrat all along, he has admitted in one of his numerous memoirs. I smelled a Democrat with David Platt as soon as he came out with Radical. With Matt Chandler I doubt he "went woke" rather than his wokeness coming to the surface as BLM picked up steam in the mid-2010s. Tim Keller, for heaven's sake, is the guy who brought Liberation theology and critical theory Marxism into evangelicalism and loved to quote the openly homosexual leftist philosopher Michel Foucault. That leaves Ligon Duncan and Mark Dever. Were they also a part of the crypto-Democrat subculture in elite evangelicalism all along? It does seem to jibe that these guys were relishing the opportunity that RC Sproul's passing provided them.
I’m very conflicted with Mark Dever. Our church is with 9marks on their website. He’s also a mentor for part of our leadership. His partner John Leeman from 9marks is questionable. Sad that church leaders who are deemed conservatives also have some blind spots. Praying for church leaders and continue to test their teaching as bereans.
@@sueh2970 Mark Dever has said that George Washington could not have been saved because he owned slaves. He is clearly warping theology for the sake of the politics of the Democrat Party to which he is registered. Dever also ridiculed "single issue" voters, which was a clear shot at pro-life Republican evangelical voters.
@@sueh2970 Mark Dever has asserted that George Washington could not have been saved because he was a slave owner, which demonstrates a willingness to corrupt theology in service of political progressivism. Beaver also publicly ridiculed "single issue voting" which was clearly a shot at Republican pro-life voters. He is registered as a Democrat voter.
@@sueh2970 ~ I am bedridden now and it started 5 yrs ago when I was looking for a new church to join. I had used the 9Marks find-a-church because I thought Mark Dever was someone to be trusted. Anyway, I had visited their evening Bible Study for abt 2 or 3 months when I could no longer drive the 25 min to get there. Anyway ... my dau/son in law said I should find a church where they would visit shut-ins. They found one for me, a Southern Baptist that seems good, nice people. I was surprised to find they also are on the 9Marks site. The pastor has been called to the Middle East as a Chaplain for now, I wonder if I should join the church? I've read that SOME 9Marks are heavy-shepherding? The one time I visited he seemed very conservative. I don't know if there are any middle age woke-sters?🤔
Right on point. The problem with these organizations is their desire to please and appeal to men, which leads them to embrace worldliness as a means of appealing to more men.
So true! I read an article a few years ago where other Pastors were trying to remind him "we should be preaching Christ crucified", ...but he wouldn't listen. I guess he was too busy with his mistress's than to pay attention to leading the sheep into truth! Sad! Give me Conrad Mbewe or Voddie Baucham or HB Charles Jr. any day!
I actually recently started rewatching all of the T4G in order (in the background while I’m working) and I’m on the 2010 conference. (It was a biennial conference)…anyway…it was very very good early on, but you are right in your assessment about how woke stuff crept in, along with scandal etc…sad but I agree the local church is where we should find our ultimate guidance and grounding in our doctrine, not a parachurch, reformed celebrity culture
@@danielwarton5343the Bible provides a guide on how to approach the topic with discipline and love, but consider that is possible that you will have to leave in case they don’t listen. Talk to your elders with humility, respect and love, pray for them and become a better leader yourself grounded in scripture. I have seen the situation before and I realize now that I needed to be a better congregant helping my leaders when they needed me.
God created the local church to meet His people’s needs but what is sad is many local churches, for whatever reason, mostly lack of Gods Word, do not meet the saints spiritual needs.
Ultimately, they are rationalists first that is why. Many people here may not want to hear this, but that is the basis of much of their theological development through a rationalistic construct and approach toward the Scriptures.
@@Freethinkingtheist77 ~ he (besides what JRake32 says below, he also sides with those who are into New Age Contemplation by walking in Prayer Labyrinths, endorses much New Agey type stuff. Some of what he teaches is still good, but I prefer to stick with those who are still solid...and pray they stay that way.
It is brutal that D.A. Carson, who wrote the clarion call against deconstruction 20yrs ago in The Gagging of God, is now an accomplice, intentionally or no, to that gagging.
Interesting how after R.C.Sproul died, things began to change within the Gispel Coalition. I am a member in the Calvary Chapel system and the same thing happened after Chuck Smith passed away. It's sad to see people, who were members of ypur spiritual family, walk away. It's painful but we must honor God and the Scriptures above all else. When our former spiritual family members compromise and deviate, we can only pray for them and perhaps like the 'Prodigal Son', they will one day come to their senses and return home.🤔
The Hegelian dialectic, particularly as updated by Marx, then Marcuse, and still later Alinsky, has been used by the Left for many decades. It's most visible application in politics was the triangulation approach used by Bill Clinton during his presidency: "The Congressional Democrats are too far left and the Congressional Republicans are too far right, but I'm in the middle here. I'm the reasonable moderate. Of course, the overall shift in the Overton Window (the range of acceptable public discourse) and, then, of course, the policy window was always toward the left. Reach "scary far" to the left with congressional rhetoric and use that to fall back to a "reasonable" and "modest" leftward incremental shift by the Democrat president. I always referred to it as the Goldilocks and Three Bears approach, too. Papa Bear's bed was too hard, Mama Bear's was too soft, but Baby Bear's was juuuuuust right.

Will you please provide the link to the full Bible Questions and Answers that your clip was taken from? Thanks!
Ligioner has gotten weak since RC died, they don’t deal with anything of relevance and they are not willing to call anyone out or willing to take a solid stand against anyone or anything. Milky toast.
Took my sis-in-law's unbelieving family to McLean Bible Church Tysons/David Platt on Jan '18 'MLK day' then heard the exact same sermon at T4G in April in Louisville. I was following on my iPhone notes verbatim on MLK, racial injustice, etc. all while wondering if a remonstrance might ensue on the complimentary T4G website's attendee blog. Sure enough, T4G shut it down hours later and we got a short admonishment the next morning on being nice. I'm proud to say I refrained from commenting (perhaps b/c every other sermon I've from Platt has been stellar where he preached nothing short of Christ crucified)
I was the one asking the question, specifically want to know how we can publicly platform Piper and H.B. Charles, both part of TGC, private communication to confront the error, yes, no public promotion of people associated with error - 2 Cor 6:17; Gal 5:9; 2 John 10-11
Agree 100% - people came down hard on Alistar Begg and for good reason. Now how about they have that same conviction to call Out Piper (ultra Woke) and HB Charles who still affiliates with many of the woke guys….. but no one will deal with the elephant in the room.
I think they are both speaking at the shepherds conference. Our church quotes Piper … leaders have a blind spot He is definitely very questionable. He also is involved with the passion conference and says he’s there to help these lost leaders. What fruit has God produced from him by being a speaker there? Men of foolishness …
I wish distinctions would be made....there is a huge difference between a practising homosexual and one who is a homosexual but chooses not to practice homosexuality.
Yes homosexual is concrete in Gods word practing or not , homosexual is a sin and is your not practicing your thoughts that sin is still In battle and needs to repent and have the mind of Christ, Amen .
I ABSOLUTELY AGREE with Pastor John on Martin Luther King, and I am an elderly black woman who remembers all of the Civil Rights agendas, the marches, etc., but don't ever remember MLK preaching the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ! I found out for myself several years ago that the negative things said about MLK was true! He was NOT a Christian at all!
I was thinking the same thing….. not sure though. It needs to be done more graciously perhaps than what I have observed. We need to separate yes, but display the fruits of the spirit. We have certainly backslidden collectively, so you may be on to something.
I am confused. I agree with much of what you say but where in the Bible are we instructed against wearing masks when advisable and for voting republican ? These issues seem extra biblical to me and not a part of classical evangelicalism.
The primary resistance was due to the State 'demanding' the closure of Churches. It was reasonably argued that that was in opposition to God's Word It then becomes a matter of conscience regarding what you do with the body that God has given you. I will not be coerced into putting experimental drugs in my body and have data that demonstrates that masks don't work We need to be convinced in our own mind Rom 14:5 One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.
The role of government is to protect its people. During the pandemic , with only evolving knowledge of the disease governments set up mandates to curb the spread. There were mistakes and over reactions. However to wilfully disobey such mandates seems to defy our governments in ways even condemned in the Bible. As for masks we know they are not completely effective but does that mean staff of hospitals need not wear them? We were confronted by what was believed to be a highly contagious and life threatening disease. It was felt that masking could in some way curtail the spread. I don’t believe it was somehow un Christian to wear them .
The Bible does not tell us to vote Republican. It does tell us, however, what happens when people support murderous leaders who advocate for evil with a straight face. If we were at the biblical times and people had to choose between let's say Ahab and David, TGC would probably make the argument that it would be okay supporting Ahab, after all David wasn't the perfect candidate. It's always dangerous playing the "nuance" game when the truth is crystal clear.
Let me guess: John MacArthur shouting "Heretic!" at anyone who doesn't agree with him on absolutely everything? Also, don't know who Bill Roach is, but his velar fricatives are on point.
I’ve just recently stumbled upon your channel and appreciate your perspective and insights. These people i.e. Big Eva have gas lit us for far to long making the faithful pew Bible discerning Christian think he was crazy for seeing the woke movement coming years ago. I’m thankful Johnny Mac said what he did, but can’t help but feel it’s a to little to late situation. I’d direct you to my channel on a video i posted asking if Johnny Mac went woke. He has platformed the very men he said were “Woke” …. I think we need to stop idolizing these men and get back to local churches with faithful pastors. Stop putting celebrity pastors on a pedestal Christ never intended them to be on. They have their place in the Christian life, however the Bible is the final authority not Celebrity Pastors. The faithful layman can discern truth and call out error at any and all time.
Some of the men he platformed, he has not had on more recently. Some of these guys used to be straight as an arrow...then their teachings change...to appease the crowd and "be cool" I guess. I listen to Mac a LOT, and he is not woke!! I would stop listening if he was!
My area is Bible translation. And I can tell you that it is a mess. Probably not what people think. What is the problem is Dynamic Equivalence doctrine has corrupted most our translations. So your handed a "Bible" like the NLT and you think what your getting is the gospel truth, but that is not the case. Of course the worst are The Message and the Passion translation, etc.
This is what I have believed for many years, and I understand that the translations that are being made for Third World peoples are being made with this corrupt Dynamic Equivalence.
I have believed this strongly for many years. I am very distressed to know the Wycliffe Bible translators are you using this corrupt Dynamic Equivalence methodology for new translations for small ethnic groups around the world.
So what shall we say then about Pastor Sproul? If he was so against the shifting leftism of TGC then why was he a part of the organization for so long? Why not just disfellowship and have nothing to do with them à la MacArthur?
That would be a swing and a miss. Mark Dever spent a decade bathing in the same waters and drinking from the same Kool-Aid. now they are not identical, but there is much of the same toxicity
I was with you in lock step until you mentioned Doug Wilson being “problematic”.. I looked into all these false accusations of him and failed to see anything of the sort…is it the CN thing or is it the FV “works based salvation” association that has been thoroughly debunked?
Yes, Sacred Scripture is one part of discernment. The second part is Apostolic Tradition (how the Apostles applied Christ's commission to His Church), and the third is a unified set of doctrine and dogma through one encompassing body of authority.
@toolegittoquit_001 When the Old Testament required circumcision, the Apostolic Church determined that Trinitarian Baptism did not add to it (it instead - replaced circumcision). St. Paul was doctrinal and dogmatic, not allowing dissension concerning what he had been taught.
CHRISTIANITY ASTRAY. The Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer. (1 Timothy 4:1-5 ESV) For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified. For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them. (Romans 2:13-15 ESV) JESUS DID NOT COME TO ELIMINATE THE LAW. Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:17-19 ESV)
Doug may be in error with Federal Vision ... does this video clear it up ? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZWqW41sBdYQ.htmlsi=0deKpWpNavvjZ6bv
I smelled a rat rather quickly. It’s like a new TV show which starts normal but quickly devolves. DA Carson hand picked racist baiting DEI promoter Thabiti Anyabwile who had no formal training and continue to promote him for quite a while. He is unrepented about this by the way as far as I’ve seen. Al Mohler’s support of leftism and his handpick of Russell Moore informed us about the discernment of Mohler who had part of that decade of influence with the gospel coalition.
I think I saw something years ago to the effect that DA Carson was one of the guys who over against Jerry Falwell and the complementarian leaders promoted acceptance of gender-neutral Bible translations among American evangelicals. I think that is horrid and I am still not reconciled to it at all. The NASB revision has lost me and I have no use for the NIV.
ASK JOHN MACARTHUR TO WITHDRAW HIS CLAIM THAT A PERSON CAN TAKE THE MARK OF THE BEAST AND STILL BE SAVED. THE BIBLE SAYS OTHERWISE. THE WORD SAYS THAT THE SMOKE OF SUCH PEOPLE'S TORMENT WILL ASCEND BEFORE THE HOLY ANGELS AND THE LAMB FOREVER. MR. MACARTHUR NREDS TO SAY PUBLICLY THAT THAT TEACHING IS FALSE. MILLIONS COULD END UP IN HELL IF THEY BELIEVE WHAT DR. MACARTHUR SAID.
Christ gave us the Church and the Bible came out of the Church. "The Church is the pillar and foundation of the truth." Your not going on the Bible alone, your influenced by the unorthodox influence of double predestination which has drove many people to discover where in the world did such a horrid influence originate. Thankfully it led many of us to the Orthodox Church that ain't goin woke.
If you want to know the kind of Baptist minister crowd MLK ran with, he was quoted as saying he didn't know of any clergymen who were not womanizers like himself.
MLK was a marxist who pushed a social justice gospel. He also denied a lot of the deity of Christ. Look up MLK on G3 ministries, they have some insightful podcasts about the true MLK.
