@@non-canon7719 true but John was the first one to make the series wjere it's at today if rob did not do a great job voicing John marston in red dead the series would of been dead bit it needed up being one of the greatest games to be made and release. It's the same with the witcher series the third one was the one that put the series on the map and got people to love the game and make videos on it And became a masterpiece Just like red dead redemption and people still talk about it even to this day about how great red dead redemption is the first one.
Ikr like if you dont have to work to do an impression just impress people with the talent that isn a talent just your voice. I honestly dont know if that was English but you get my meaning.
As a kid when Red Dead Redemption came out, I saw my dad in John’s character. When Red Dead Redemption 2 came out, I was grown, and I saw myself in John’s struggle. Incredible character and absolutely wouldn’t be the same without Rob in the role.
I watched my dad play Red Dead when I was a kid, so I also see my dad in John’s character, that’s why I think I relate to and enjoy playing as Jack so much tbh, but Rob is spot on saying the franchise has brought families together, playing RDR2 with my dad now that I’m older has been so great, I could talk for hours with him about all the different gang members , side missions and everything!
@GrapeSkoda I have an idea. MY idea. Not the one society implanted on you. I dont blame you for being a cog in the machine either. If anything, I wish you well and that you wake up someday.
ChaoticStarFish hm, I wonder who managed to help overthrow a heavily armed corrupt government almost completely by himself? Surely not Arthur though lol
John will always be my favourite. RDR2 just contextualised him a bit more. He made mistakes as a young man but it makes his character in RDR1 even more stoic.
I love this guy. Seriously. I come from a small town, too...and he didn't care for the whole LA vibe and really didn't even give much of a shit about video games...he just landed the role of a lifetime because of his unique voice and completely threw himself into the gaming scene and he interacts with the fans and seems SO appreciative of the opportunity he's been given. He always says how much he enjoys making the games and working with the people behind them and never hesitates when asked if he would come back for another game. Never tries to act "big time" and instead just gives an excited "yes". He seems like a typical small town dude from a country town that was discovered because of his unique talent.
Red Dead Redemption means the world to me. The first game came out when I was in high school. My home life wasn’t great, and Red Dead was my escape from all the bad around me. It inspired me to move out west, and as a kid in high school, I remember saying that one day I would have a ranch of my own. when I turned 20 I made my way to a small mountain town in the middle of nowhere in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, married the love of my life, and as of last March I’m proud to say I purchased my own ranch at the foot the mountains. My wife and I have decided to name it beecher's hope, as tribute to all Red Dead has done for me. My wife wanted a ps4 last Christmas, and now Red Dead Redemption 2 online has become something special we do as a family. I found out this year that we’re going to have a baby. When my child grows up, I cant wait to show them the game that inspired me, and gave me the drive to make my dreams come true . This game means more to me than any other form of media ever created.
I think the majority of people who dislike dogs are those who simply don't understand them. Or who believe in those accidents where they are agressive. It's more about ignorance than trust imo.
Just smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol every now and than and also go to your pillow and scream in it for a few minutes every day in about 2weeks you will have this voice
They had an idea in mind when they started working on the game and Rob's voice was so perfect for it. That's why they chose him. That voice is amazing.
I haven’t played the first one and RDR2 is the best game I’ve ever played! But yeah I have wondered how much better it would be if I had played the first. So thank you now I have to get it, play it and play RDR2 for the 3rd time
@@ToxicBottledOstrichNostrils well the second one is a prequel and the first one is on psnow with the zombie dlc included it is worth beating the story mode at least.
Thomas Vigil right on! Yeah I discovered that it was a prequel after beating it the first time. I didn’t want to watch too many videos or anything to spoil it. But I have a ps3 in my garage and was gonna dust it off but yeah that’s a much better idea thank you!!
Same here. I enjoyed watching friends play the GTA games but could not for the life of me, play them myself. I was never a fan of Western nor GTA games, but upon seeing the first teaser for RDR1, I was hooked and knew I had to play it. RDR1 was a first day release purchase for me. RDR2 is great and Arthur is an awesome character, but John Marston will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you Rob for the awesome performance.
What I love about Rob is his gratefulness. Do a quick search of Rockstar actors and an overwhelming amount are pissed. About pay, about treatment, about whatever else. But even after Rob's somewhat crappy introduction to Rockstar he still has nothing but positive things to say about the company and experiences he had. I'm sure there were bad or downright awful moments but Rob is the kind of guy to not talk down or poorly. Love that, never mind John is the best character (in my opinion) ever crafted.
Rob has one of the most unique voices I've ever heard. You will remember Robert's voice for life, of course, if you played the game. And to hear him talk, it's like you've known him for ages. Rob God bless you!
Red Dead Redemption was a part of my early adulthood. It's probably still my favourite game and I think I've extracted every little secret there is to find in it. It wasn't just a fun game to play and spend time in - it inspired me in many ways. When I had just got the game, one morning I had the soundtrack playing in my ears as I would go walk my dog at dawn, after playing RDR the entire night. I remember so well how that field looked in that particular morning. Summer had just started, it was a beautiful morning, and there was a slight mist hanging over it. My dog was roaming free and having fun. I love nature, but at that moment I apperciated it all even more than usual. It was a different athmosphere for me, and it was all thanks to that game. I love this guy. Can't imagine anyone more perfect for John's role.
I really would’ve liked it better tho if John didn’t look so wonky and had his own hair. As far as the story goes tho it was really good idk why people say they don’t like the epilogue
One incredible things is, here he is the sweetest, happiest guy in the world, and if you go back to the game, bam! the same voice is now John Marston, and the passage is instantious. I cant begin to comprehed such magical acting.
The fact that you respect the opportunity and the fans came across really well. You seem like a top humble down to earth bloke. I like you and want to buy you a beer! Enjoyed that thanks. 1 and 2 are my favourite games ever. Masterpieces.
Hi Rob . I'm closing my eyes and I have your character in my head. Not taking away from you great visage but none of your co stars have the voice in real life . I love this game and I hope to hear your gravely voice again in other games. 🍀🇮🇪🍀
Can't believe I still play red dead 1 and 2 sometimes but I like the 1st one better but I really thank you for making a game that I played for 8 years now ☺️☺️☺️ hope y'all have a good day ☺️☺️☺️
I remember back in 2010 I just got an Xbox 360 and the first game I managed to get was RD. It was winter vacation I think and I remember helping my father in his liquor store. I’d always bring my 360 to his store put it in the back and play for countless hours. A week later I can remember beating the game in his store and I screamed. I told him “dad they just killed John!!” He said well son I’ll take a good shot of whiskey for our fallen soldier”. Such a great memory.
I truly think that video games deserve a higher place in the entertainment and art industries. That’s currently the only kind of entertainment which gives me some emotions I’ve never felt since a couple of years.
Amazing performances from these actors, thank you Rob (John) for being the inspirational OG cowboy! Super excited for the autograph signing next week. Also thanks to Roger (Arthur), Ben (Dutch) and the rest of the crew!
I think Wiethoff is the only cast member who actually looks and sounds like he could be someone from that era in his normal self. He has that rough kind of demeanor about him. I can 100% see why Rockstar chose to cast.
It’s obvious what got you the part. That sweet, gravelly cowboy voice. They probably heard your voice in some old commercial you did and said “that’s our John Marston”
Rob, if you only knew how absolutely furious I was way back then at that M?"';!'oth""';!;;Fu"_'_" barn scene! And the amount of insane attempts, in every conceivable way I could think of that I attempted to somehow change its outcome my friend. Reloading, Trying to prolong deadeye, starting over entirely just so that when I arrived at that scene again John would have everything maxed, the best weapons....anything I could think of that might, just maybe, allow John to come out on top of that. Or to even, when all else failed, be at the very least, able to make sure that ba$tar! Ross went with him! Sorry. I couldn't pull it off brother. But oh man did I try. EVERYONE from both games gave us something really special with all your hard work, and obvious love of that world. But for me, as much as I loved everybody in this tale. There'll never be anyone that left as much of an impression on me. Or gave me the memories I have playing RdR1 with my Son. Just when he was getting old enough to appreciate what it was, instead of just another game, than You did, with John Marston. Thank you.
It's crazy he's forever immortalized as one of the most beloved characters in any peice of fiction is history. And it was a shot in the dark audition he didn't even know anything about. Life's a trip man.
A really nice guy, what a great team they made. Thankyou so much to all of you and Rockstar ofcourse, for bringing us such an emotional journey that made us truly feel a part of Dutch's gang. When Arthur's and John's story finally came to an end, it i felt like I'd had my guts ripped out. I only hope that if Rockstar ever make RDR3 it will be about Jack Marston after he avenged his father.
@@Klausinator451 I acually heard 5hat during the making of the game artur Morgan was supposed to be the protaganist of the first one but rockstar decided not to do it but they said they never forgot about Arthur and added him in red dead redemption 2. Idk that's just what I heard.
Naughtydog could learn a thing or two from Rockstar. Both told a tale about the cycle of violence but Rockstar told it better without politics being involved.
I can see where your coming from but I don't know if it was political. I think they just pulled two Houdini's on us and they never really earned the understanding of what they did.
