I was there.......I remember thinking during the solo.....this is the best musical moment of my life.......shivers,......amazing .......perhaps THE greatest live moment of my life.
I truthfully didn't want it to end. Holy shitsnacks, I'm a little hairy, but I just found out I still don't have enough hair to stand up for that damn solo.
Blueskiddo it was incredible. Unfortunately the lady in front of me was spastically dancing during the whole song and solo. John's playing did not disappoint though!
Gilmore and Clapton are almost retired, Gary Moore Prince and now EVH are gone, Slash has nothing new to say,, The crown rightly goes to the wonderful John Mayer,, guitar for the guitars sake alone is not enough,, you have to paint a worthy backdrop to present it,, in other words write a great song first! any doubters check out this solo,,, one of the best I have heard for years,, super tasty, superb!!!
I was there on second night, this for me was the highlight of the show,an amazing solo. Think this is from first night, but an amazing recording, thank you for posting this Atomicampo.
Steve Sett thanks Steve I'm probably wrong but other posts from Atomicampo seem to be songs that were not on second night but maybe he/she/was there both nights, great gigs though.:)
I have long secretly wanted that to happen, the closest I might get to it is that old live version of money for nothing that he did a while back. I am totally with you on that, if it could be something like this would just be an incredible moment. Much prefered over clapton no offence to any fans of his.
@@briancarpenter3081 hey, I'm 23 and just discovered David Gilmoure a few days ago. I listened to his guitar solos but didn't find them as melodious as john's. Can you suggest me some good solos od david gilmoure?
people that refuse to accept john mayer as one of the best guitar players alive would have probably been the same people to witness jesus do all his miracles and still refuse to accept that he was the son of god. 😂😂😂
He is in the O2 arena man. He's got a couple of Dumble amps Six string slingers I think they are named like that. And they are cranked up dude! That's why the sustain is eternal. People will argue about what Im gonna say but after playing professionally for a few years you get to understand at some point that "world class" or legendary tone is impossible to reach at a low volume. But that's only my experience! Anyways Cheers brotha!
@@eduardocarrizo9307 That sustain is what really stood out to me too. Really crisp and quite clean tone but with insane sustain. Would love to get that through my little amp at home but I'm guessing that's not happening! ;)
Hew was diagnosed with a granuloma in his throat back in 2011. He had an operation to remove it but it negatively affected his voice. I am actually quite happy that his voice is starting to come back.
atomicampao Yeah i know, i was in one of the "Born And Raised" shows and he was singing well. Maybe it was only this night, it isn't like that on other videos. Mayer all the way 🙋
