My thoughts on John Mayer’s sound exploration: He is a “Clapton certified-Master” guitar player. To be a master of anything, you have to have 100% control over whatever thing it is you master. John has preached about the blues.. if you don’t think 60 year-old JM isn’t playing the blues with Steve Jordan and PP, you’re wrong. I think he’s worked for this window of his life, his whole life. We have a relationship with his music, but we can’t understand his relationship with a guitar. There’s levels to this shit. John, can do anything he wishes with a guitar, and I think he has earned every right to show that. Enjoy the genius, and his ambition to make the tracks we never thought we’d hear. Whatever John you love, I’m sure you’ll see again. Freedom is something every human being desires; let him fly

This song reminds me in 2018 when it played in radios and I had a radio right on the bedside cabinets playing softly. It would always play at night near or after midnight. It was also during my funky fandom days but I remember it better during the night. It’s so calm and I’m glad I found this.

I've been on the Mayer train since early last year. I revisited Battle Studies and got hooked on the entire album for a year before being reeled into Continuum, having that on repeat now. Just when I thought I was done, I get reeled into some stuff from Room For Squares and end up getting hooked on the all songs on Where the Light Is. Before I'm even over that I'm totally into this. The guy has become my favourite musician real quick.
