Randomly stumbling across a 4 year old video of John Mayer over exaggerating his tattoo he got from Horimitsu as if you have to jump through hoops to get one. The tattooist is very good but you don't have to do what John describes to get one nor be anything close to Yakuza. And what is this god awful music is the background that absurdly loud.

Forgive me for looking like a dumbass but I have a question for you tattoo lovers out there: John and the interviewer were talking about how he got his traditional Japanese tattoo then they go on to say something about tapping the tattoo (?) What exactly is that, like it sounds painful Haha judging by the guys face..
Look up "tapping tattoo" on RU-vid and you can see people getting it done. Instead of using an electric needle, its like they're hammering, or tapping, the needle into your skin.
Everything he said about the Japanese tattoo is such exaggerated bs lmfao, you don’t have to “earn” it, you can pretty much get a tebori tattoo booking easily if you have the money, but you’ll have to wait. Also, it’s not at all mind boggling to walk in a shop for consultation and booking for another date, in fact it would be mind boggling if you expected to get a sleeve on the same day. He’s so unknowledgeable it hurts. The host is such a tool too “wowww you got tapped?”
Total bs lol. I dont have a full sleeve but have gotten two tebori tattoos from another member of the Horitoshi family in Japan and it's nothing as John describes. Additionally, tebori hurts wayyy less and heals much faster than tattoo machine shading
