A song that was released when I was a teenager and had a profound effect on me from the minute I first heard it. Ive seen John live many times over the years and have always marvelled at how brilliant and mesmeric he was live. I could never understand how he wasnt as big a star in the UK, and must rank as the most underrated musician Britain has ever produced. This performance is as fresh and excellent as my first time hearing it all those years ago. Thanks for posting this and thank you John for the music and the memories
I met him in the mid 80's and shared a gig at the Billy Fury memorial concert at the Beck theatre we played at , lovely guy, so talented, he never got the recognition he should have, when you hear the crap there is around today.

In my opinion. This is the best version of this epic song. I have listen/watched many. What a show. The dancers, the full orchestra and his voice at his best. WOW. May you rest in peace John.

I met him and his band when I was on holiday in Ibiza with friends in 1985/6. He was playing at the Heartbreak Hotel just outside San Antonio. Couldn't believe it there he was playing "music" and who was in the audience no other than Robert Plant . We chanced our luck at the end and went backstage and shared a spliff or too with the band . you couldn't make it up. R.I.P.
Saw him in the 1970,s and loved him all the way till now. Much underrated in the Uk, glad Europe was good to him. This performance of Music one of the best i,ve seen too, some high notes at the end reached. RIP xxx
