Bernie has the support of an army of unemployed internet trolls who will attack any candidate that they see as a threat to him in the primary. Right now Pete is the biggest threat, and therefore Berniebros are out here and all over reddit and twitter spreading hateful lies and conspiracy theories about him. Mulaney said it well. Mostly because Pete as someone who lived in his area doesn’t have a good track record with black people and people always want to be like the Bernie Bro’s. But we lived under Pete and we weren’t fans. I’m also a lesbian I don’t care that he has a husband I’m also black I don’t like his policies as mayor so why would I like it as president. I think often people who are white and LGBT don’t realize that he’s often had bad policies for black people and didn’t know it because they haven’t lived under it. I think it’s the benefit of not knowing mayor Pete until now. It’s white people who have often said vote for the lesser of two evils but what if you’re black and you’re often ignored until they need the black vote what if he’s not the lesser of two evils. I guess it’s the privilege of not being part of the black experience. As someone who moved to CT later in life white liberals are something else that’s my two cents. Many of my LatinX friends hate Pete too but of course trump has terrible policies too for immigration so they don’t know what to do but they also don’t want to vote for someone chummy with defense contractors. I really feel for my LatinX friends sigh 😔. Like i saw a lot of white people crying about trump and POC being zoned out because they accepted it since they feel as though America was racist enough for him to win which makes sense since mostly educated white men and women voted for Trump. The disillusionment sigh America and it’s military complex I get since many of us immigrants came from countries that they had to escape from because the US installed dictatorships :/

Just stop it. Fallon's laugher isn't forced. If you ever watched him on SNL or before this show, you would have seen that he is simply a giggly person. He loves his job and the people he gets to interact with. Perhaps it seems overdone at times, but that's simply his personality, just like how Robin Williams was absolutely nuts in every interview and Christopher Lloyd was so awkward.

@@krancis I didn't get that impression. Mulaney is a pretty straight shooter when he's doing an interview or stand up. His humor is based on quirky real life events. So I totally buy it. I'd be fishing those out of the can myself and be glad someone threw them out.

His dad was a lawyer, he went to rich kid schools and college. Definitely hiring a repairman rather than being the repairman. I love him, but he's straight middle class.

New Wave Nancy Fair criticism of Pete is actually fairly hard to come by. Everything is so sensationalized and narrative driven. There is such an overwhelming need for “clicks” that people are willing to purposefully misconstrue Pete’s words, message and policy. Granted, this happens to all politicians including Sanders, Warren, Biden but it seems to be especially bad for Pete. Just to correct some of these misconceptions. Black folks in South Bend don’t hate Pete. If you go into any community, you’re going to find people who aren’t favourable towards the mayor. If you actually look at the voices who criticize him, they tend to be the same 5 people over and over again. These folks are often political rivals within the city. The vast majority of black folks in South Bemd who have endorsed a candidate, have endorsed Pete. Well yes and no. Anyone can of course choose to do whatever they want in such situation, but if you disagree enough with a movie‘s motive, then that would be a good reason not to take part. Movies are art and art is political, and as an actor, whatever you do will affect your artistic integrity.
