I had a '77 RM370 and liked the bike. Great usable power band (bottom to mid & no real top end) and the suspension ate berms up. Honda has been my favorite for years, but this bike handled so well. It came to a point when it stranded me a few times. Did not prove itself reliable. My 1974 Yamaha MX400 still gets me home to this day quite fine (it was free...). Never had a Honda strand me either (8 of them later).
My first encounter with this astonishing bike was in 1977,. me on my Kawasaki G-5 100cc enduro and my friend Manuel on his 1972 Kawasaki F-9 350cc enduro. W were in the Nevada desert riding out by Williams motocross track thinking we were really riding fast when this guy pulls up next to us going about 40mph on a RM 370 and pulls a wheelie and flys past us. Harry was his name, and he became a hero and a legend at the same time. Bless you Harry wherever you are, you were the greatest.
So these 370s had great low end and mid range compared to other open bikes?? Loved my 76 RM125B and I rode and rode and road in the mountains above Rancho Cucamonga Cal. Good times!
It had good bottom but it did rev out . It was like riding a super fast 250 because it was the same size and weight of a 250 . To be honest it was one of the nicest bikes I ever rode 250 handling with big block power.

The bike to own in its time these are fantastic to experience the aluminium tank is a beauty and they were called the mellow yellow bikes of the 1970s the colour was loverly in the phlona yellow was the 76 model and the 77 was in the mustard yellow these bikes were exiting times in development the layed down shocks without the gas cylinder shocks like the 77 had the cylinders on the side but both both models did their job at great handling in those times it was fun times japanese versus european bikes exiting times to watch so many motocross bikes and brands competing at an event the smell of two stroke fuel was fantastic lots of exiting people came to the events to watch these bikes in action these bikes were won the bike of the year the 250A and 370A on the front cover of motocross action magazine
