He was very underrated but I just loved his voice and yes a real cowboy for certain...he made each scene flow.

Fact - Slim Pickens was a cowboy in real life. He was a rodeo performer who sometimes did movies. Whether a rodeo rider of cowboy in films - he was superb.

And a good writer. He has a few movies and lots of TV episodes under his belt.
