Amazing! And to the “age” comments pointing toward his mistakes: doubtful. I think it’s simply finding the time to practice! Suddenly the show arrives(who knows what pandemic messes ensued with booking), and yet he sang on his guitar where he was at in the way we all admire. Alternatively, glad he’s been in the studio three(!) times as the stage has been empty. What a trip, and all the more to him and his massive repertoire. I can only imagine the grind to keep up his years of music.. difficult music where mistakes don’t hide. Bless you, John!

Chi lo sa! 🇺🇸 The only thing I have never understood about Petrucci (and I always speak with great affection and admiration) is his lack of attention to the rendering of his solo songs in live, another guitarist (a la Dave Weiner) would be enough to push with the sides and supports when keyboards need it and the quality would be truly excellent! Who knows!
Everyone is talking about petrucci.. Im amazed with the bass solo, he is one of the best bass player from my opinion... So melodic solo and great sound... petrucci is still the best as well...
Not his best day. For how good his perfoances are always are it feels weird how many noticeable mistakes he made in this one but he remains John fucking petrucci 🤘
Mangini lacked the groove and time feel due to which Petrucci stumble upon. I really miss Portnoy in Dream Theater as well. Its just Petrucci and Portnoy shared a great-epic musical understanding and relationship which worked well and created historic music.
Ive been trying to perfect this song from this Album for like a year already ,before moving on Damage Control .. today ,i think im gonna start moving on this song.. coz ,i think its really hard to play this perfectly...
I think there into ,learning to pointing out the mistakes ...or learning to just to continue playing and not to be distracted by mistakes during live performance ..
And soo ? What's the matter in 1:54 ? Maybe he forgot already some notes cause of their new album now 20min. Even us, even 3min instrumental we forgot after 3days. How much more if a year ?
i wonder why he doesnt have another guitar doing the backing chords. Its really boring to play this song only with the bassist. At least in my experience.
